The Supply Department has a high degree of versatility. These men are responsible for all the repair parts, general stores, provisions and ship's store items that must be carried by a destroyer in order to operate. All the service that is provided, such as the laundry, barber shop and gedunk are the responsibility of the men in the supply department. The many meals that are prepared daily for the officers and enlisted men are done so by the cooks and stewards. The paymaster and the clisbursing clerks who disburse thousands of dollars each month are also members of the Supply Department.
