They did things like passing an apple, watermelon eating contests, sack races, and tug-of-war. With the help of the spirited seniors they enjoyed a fun-filled year. Kevin Mitchell opening ceremonies Tony Hunt doin' it to death TO PARTY! If they can do it so can we m¥M The seniors this year were out to have a lot of fun. Seniors sponsored a play day every Wednesday at lunch. It proved to be a bundle of laughs. With the help of the Senior Parents Committee and Senior Mother, Mrs. Beatrice Butler, the senior class raised enough money to have the prom at the Atlantis on Mission Bay. Many other fun activities were held during the year. Through the help of the teachers and counselors of Samuel F.B. Morse High School, seniors this year learned and matured together. Though we were sorry to leave, we will always remember our years at Morse as a happy experience ... our days have just begun. A transfer student from Pt. Loma High, in her sophomore year she was active on the varsity track team, next becoming involved on the varsity cheer squad, where she played an important part. In her senior year she served in ASB as Commissioner of Publicity. It's nice to see beauty, brains, and personality combined. This picture of Darryl Yarbrough shows his unique and sincere personality, fun loving, warm, and cheerful. Darryl was known around the campus as friendly and very outgoing. He has been a member of the varsity football squad for three years and participated in the varsity wrestling team. He served our student body as ASB President, in addition to serving on various senior committees. He was voted a senior standout as well as PTSA Young Man for the Month of September. It was this school, during my sophomore year in which the special someone came into my life. David and I have been together for 2 years along with our up's and down's, but we're both waiting for that certain day in which our lives will be joined forever! I also want to wish my best friend, Monica Echavez, the best of everything and may her life always be filled with laughter and happiness. CARLOS JAVIER FERNANDEZ I will always remember my years at Morse, my partying and cruising partners Juan G.A.L., T.P., C.M., and E.C. But most of all what I'll remember about Morse is my Jr. and Sr. years, which I shared with Leticia C. who I'll always remember. My goal is to major in Architectural Drafting at Southwestern College and later marry the girl who I love to share my goals with. TYRONE FONVILLE My years at Morse have been very profitable. The faculty and curriculum were great. I'll always remember A.K., and the fun times we had, sometimes doing nothing. I hope she encounters no problems in finding a trailer hitch for her college Senior class float. S.S. became a true sadist during his last year, but he's still a great guy. I guess being a student of Mr. W. did it (don't take this seriously Mr. W.). Miss S. was fantastic. What did she say to the snake? I know, she said, Shhhh. She's a great person. I'll remember Mrs. C's notes that didn't apply to the tests (I stopped taking them). Salad is an inherent part of Miss B. I'll also remember a host of other people that I will not endeavor to name. EVELYN CARLITA HOGGATT Evey My most exciting year was when I was in the 10th grade. I went to the prom, after prom, and also Grad-Nite. I really enjoyed myself that night. When I first came to Morse I didn't know anyone. I got to know everyone by J.W., who I've been going with for 3 Vi years. In the 11th grade I made Jr. Princess and went out for Mascot. In the 12th grade 1 was a cheerleader which 1 really enjoyed being. I'm going to miss a lot of my friends, especially R.A. my partner. My goal is to settle down with J.W. and to get all the education I need to get a job. I would like to raise a family by J.W. STEVEN NATHANIEL LAWRENCE Steve In my Jr. year I played varsity football and I'm in the Letterman's Club. I have a special girl named M.B. My plans are to go to a 2-year college, study biology, then transfer to U.C.L.A ROBERTA MARTINEZ—Bert I'll never forget 10th grade and the fun I had with K.F. It was a great year. I'll never forget Mrs. Manlove and the badminton team. I'll remember being friends with J.O. most of all. Laughing all period in Mr. Salazar's English class. Ms. Mallory's class was great too. JULIUS MORGAN I was involved in ROTC for the past 3 years and I liked it very much. I hope that Morse students will join ROTC and help Morse's ROTC keep the ROTC Still Well trophy for the years to come. Let's help keep Morse's standards high. JOYCE ALICE OJEDA I had a lot of up's and down's in high school. But I was lucky, the downs were few. I met a lot of people. Some remain close, others not so close. I learned a lot about life and Jesus Christ. He's a wonderful person to know. Many a time has He helped me when I have stumbled or fallen. He's always there when you need Him and He never goes away. I had a lot of fun helping out with the swim team. Mr. MacDonald is a great coach. Thanks to DB SW for giving me a senior year that I'll never forget. EMELINE deLEON RODIL—Emm Never before in my life have I had a wonderful time as I did at Morse High School. I have met and made friends with many fine people who have made an impression on me. I'll always remember Lynn P., Nora S., Josie B., 8eth N„ Stephanie C., and many more. I'll especially treasure my soph, year and the magic moments I had with my first true love, Elmer Gaffud. I never knew that such happiness existed in this world until I met him, and I thank God for bringing us together. I would like to give a special thanks to the world's greatest parents. My future plans are to go to college, majoring in business administration, then devote the rest of my life to the man God has chosen to be my eternal companion. To those who remain, I wish them all the best of luck, love and happiness and may they also cherish their high school years here at Morse. ELAINE DIANE SCOTT- Sweetheart I've really had a lot of fun spending my first 2 years nere at Morse. The Marching Band and ROTC attendant was an experience for me. When I graduate, I plan on going to college to become a hair dresser, then in 1979 get married to a secret young man named Michael Burris. Morse is a school that I'll never forget. PATRICIA ELAINE THOMPSON I'll never forget my senior year, because I really got involved in things. I was active in the Pep Club, Treas. of Harambee Club, played badminton. I'll always remember the great football season we had and how the seniors partyed afterwards, also when Jeannetta M. gave her party after Kearney's game (that we won). Theta Y's shoe being stuck in the middle of the street, Jackie J. eating all the time and getting fat, Ethel's country accent, Jeanatte M's crazy laugh. Good luck class of '77. TAKAHIRO YAMADA-Taka Hi Tiger's, I'm Taka an AFSer from Japan. My hometown is Nagoya whose population is over 2 million. Nagoya is situated between Tokyo, the capital of Japan, and Kyoto, an ancient capital. It takes only 2 hours to get from Tokyo to Nagoya on a bullet train. I arrived in San Diego on July 19th. Since school started I have been enjoying myself immensely. I went to see most of the football games we played. Our team is great. I'll have to go back to Japan in the middle of this coming July. By that time I would like to get to know all of you Tigers and be friends with you. Aries DELRITA ALEXANDER Borrito I'd like to say that these 2Vi years at Morse were fun. Being a letter carrier was very fun. I would like to say good bye to my teachers especially Mrs. Bengston (thanks for everything). Good luck to my friends, A.B., S.W., C.B., T.Y., P.T., S.B., M.8., A.W., A.J., V.M., P.M., K.N., K.B., C.T., A S., M.M., C M., A.V., J.L., R.W., J.R CINDY RENA BURDETT Crummy My 3 years at Morse have been quite an experience. I remember my soph, year as an uneventful one (I was kind of shy then!). My jr. year was the best. I'll always remember: all the good times being a varsity cheerleader with Vilma (Frankenstein!), and Annie (we got soul!). Crying at the GH game, all the fun basketball games, etc. Struggling thru Am. Lit. U.S. Hist, with S.B. (my no. 1 friend), A.I., V.T., P.T., M.D., L.R., C.T., and so many others! 1 plan to attend Brigham Young University and become an actress or drama teacher. 1 also plan to be married and have a family someday, and always be happy! MICHAEL CLOUD-Cloudy The past three years have been very enjoyable and educational. All students, teachers, and faculty have contributed reality to the success of my high school days. My three years of playing Varsity Basketball were very rewarding and have taught me discipline and endurance. In my opinion, Morse High School is the BEST school around. For it not only teaches a formal education, but it also prepares students to live and associate with other members of all races. MICHAEL EVANS For the most part each one of my school years were very beautiful experiences for me. I made friends easily and matured with myself very quickly. My Sophomore year was fun because of the new and exciting change we went through in adapting to a new school. My Junior year was one of the happiest years of my life. I was very popular with the young ladies, active in A.S.B., and made good grades. I also went to San Francisco and on a California tour with some very good friends, and to top it off I was elected junior class prince. My Senior year was happy because I had a tremendous amount of friends and felt very secure in school. Some of the friends I love and will never forget are, R.N., C.B., S.B., M.8., T.R., E.F., A C., N.J., S.C., C.C-, K. M., R.E., D.Y., H.M., and S.F. Because my high school years were so happy I can't help but say Morse High School is and will always be the best school ever. THERESA FOLEY-Terry I have a lot of good things to remember during my high school years, like being out in the parking lot or at the movies on Friday nights. These memories and the friends I shared them with will always be treasured especailly my friends I've made and the friends I've met, and the parking lot gang. I've met people like Donna chips, Sheri Ann, Eileen Marie, and in the tenth grade and eleventh Liz McCoy. Good luck to them and all the rest. ALBERTA HOM Oui This paragraph is dedicated to all my friends mainly M.T., I.C., L. V., L.C., C.D., B.S., H.V., A.A., M. V., J.T., J.M., M.C., J.C., T.F., and many others. I wish them much luck, happiness and success. I'll always remember all the crazy and fun times we had together. To the rest of our great class of '77, good luck see you at our reunion if we have one. ALMA LARUE KEY I have truly enjoyed these past 3 years at MHS. I participated in gymnastics and track in the 10th and llth respectively. I'll especially remember from the 10th grade Denise Becton and our science fair project. From llth I'll remember lunches with Dora, wondering about how I was going to get along with the Advanced Folk when Debbie got out of Advanced Math, and running against M.K., M.B., H.M. for ASB Vice President. From 12th, which has so far been my best year. I'll remember going to all the football games— except Crawford, and how as far as I was concerned Morse won CIF. I ll remember running all over town looking for a trailer hitch on homecoming day during which time Roy's car ran Out of gas, and a policeman picked us up, and because we couldn't rent a hitch (except for S25), we missed the parade I'll also remember Tyrone, and all the many times we tripped, including the time we ate donuts in the public library, while doing our Calculus and how everyone looked at us strangely. My plans are to go to college and one day become a college professor. CAROLYN MARIE LEININGER- Twin, Dillenger I must say that I really enjoyed myself being at Morse. I met a lot of people like R.H., L.H., D.S., J.A., S.B., J.H., etc. I had a lot of good times, football games especially. I was on the Track team in 10th and in volleyball in llth. That gave me a lot of school spirit. I won't ever forget ditching with D.S. J.S. to J.B.'s or Mac's. My favorite teachers were Mrs. Scott, Miss Hillman, Mr. Meeh, and Mr. Wong. My future plans are to attend J.C. and work at the French Restaurant with M.A., Jack m the Box I'll get married eventually. Who knows what will happen? Life is nice but unpredictable. MARILYN LEININGER I'll remember my 10th grade ditching Geometry with Diane Starr. In the llth grade playing J.V. Volleyball and spraining my ankle, playing J.V. Softball for Manlove with D.S., B.V., E.S., S. C., J.A., working in the Student Store during lunch and our 3 day trip to L.A. with C.L., T. W., M R., S.R., E.E., D.V., C.D. I'm happy that I'm going to leave, and sad that I’ll miss some of the people here, and part of the things we've done. School has played a big part in my life. Here I have met people like Kathy G, Shiela W. Steven S., and many others. It has helped me shape my life get along with people. It showed me so much. I'm going to miss school, but I have to take my place in life, send my children to school and hope that they have as many good times as I have. JACQUELYN E. GUTIERREZ—Lito My three years at Morse were filled with moments of disappointment and happiness. Most of my soph, year was spent practicing in ROTC, participating in Model UN, and showing up for CSF meetings. Becoming Brigade CSM in my junior year was a very happy moment for me, but nothing could top my meeting Janice. I'll always remember '76 JR. ROTC Ball, That's the Way of the World, and on looking forward to '77's Ball, Prom and Grad Nite. 1977, year of my graduation is one of hard work, but it will all pay off in 4 years. I am very proud of my CIF semi-final football team, they may not have been no. 1 to the San Diego County but they were to me! I plan to attend Mesa for 2 years, then transfer to USC in L.A., majoring in Marketing Mid-Management. THETA YOUNG I would like to thank the football players for a good and exciting season, to those who plan to continue in Pro, good luck. I really enjoyed being a senior at Morse. I had fun going to the games and then partying afterwards. I will always remember everyone, and I wish everyone the best of luck in the future. To the seniors take care of yourselves so that we will all be together again in '88, for our 10 year reunion. Scorpio SANDRA DEE ADONA San During my first year at Morse, I was shy and didn't know many people. Then my cousins Linda and Vilma came and brought me out of my shyness. I’ve met lots of people and have a lot of new friends. My best year was my junior year, when a lot of special people came into my life. I was a wrestling cheerleader that year also. I'll never forget the good times with B.S. My special friends and bros. Vince, Melchor, and Benji will always be in my thoughts. They were so nice and sweet to me. The time they brought me out for my birthday was so fun. And of course most of all my Guamanian sister Cathy Diaz will never be forgotten. We had lots of fun and memorable time together. I plan to go to college for 2 years and major in Dental Assisting. ELIZABETH ALFORQUE Caledonia I'll always remember our « 1 football team and the good times I had in Mrs. 0's class. I wish the best of luck to me and Scott and our daughter Latoya Rene Cherry. I'm proud of my mother and father, sisters and brothers. I love my nieces and nephews A.H., J.H., D.H., T.G., H.G.. TA, E.A., T.H., T.H. L.H. To my little sister Susan, thank you for babysitting Latoya. In my 2 years at Morse I never thought people could be so inconsiderate. This is everybody, don't ever think you have friends, just associates, because I've learned from experience. They'll do everything behind your back, I've had it done to me but I shined it on. When I get out of school I plan to go to City College. I would also like to say that for the past 2 years, Morse's football team has been punked and Coach S. didn't do anything about it. Anyway, I just wish me and Scott stay together forever and we will take care of our daughter, Latoya Rene Cherry. I love you Scott. The Mighty Tigers Women's Volleyball team, coached by Miss McCarthy, has battled with high determination to win. But, unfortunately, with the lack of participation, the girls have not done as well as they could have. The girls practiced long and hard daily and on weekends to prepare themselves for their games. The Tigers were led by six returning players, they were as follows: Maritza Beard, Debbie Beard, Carmen Cruz, Rhonda Espy, Diane Starr and Linda Thompson. (Bonnie Hooker, Myrisse Calabia, Debbie Vickers, Cheryl Stanley and Caryn Schreiber). The team ended up third in their league with three wins and four losses. Most of the girls went to the tournament to compete against other schools in the county. Our number one doubles, Caryn Schreiber and Cheryl Stanley, were ranked fifth in the county, and were defeated in a heated match against the number one ranked doubles, La Jolla. Although they lost, they were proud to have scored as much as they did. Also, Debbie Vickers, our number two singles did well but lost during the third round. After weeks of training, working out, and conditioning, the Mighty Tiger JV Team had its' stuff together. Under Coach Arevalo's direction the team turned out all right! At the end of the ninth week of football training the Morse JV record stood three wins, three losses, and one tie. After a fast start for three straight wins, the team suddenly took a complete turnabout and tied one and dropped three games. The spirit of the Tigers was not lost, however, and the team made plans for the future. The years support of the Morse JV Football team was great. Hopes remain high that as the years pass more and more students will show their school spirit by continuing their strong support of JV Football. The first meet was against University, and though the Tigers were determined, they lost 34-6. The JV team did a little better, but still lost 16-14. The sport was introduced by Coach Gary MacDonald, who felt there were students at Morse with the necessary drive for this fast moving sport. Though their overall record for this first year was 2 wins, 12 losses, they looked forward with determination and the will to change that record to 12 wins, 0 losses next year. 138 The Tigers took the Eastern League crown for the second consecutive year, led by the Eastern League Coach-of-the-Vear John Shacklett. This year Coach Shacklett used the wishbone, which proved as devastating as it was last year. Only one touchdown pass was thrown, a 35 yard combination from Jerry Brooks to Dana Scott. The Tigers proved that you don't have to pass all the time to win games. Eddie Ford, running back of the year, led the Tigers' running attack with 1175 total yards and 8 touchdowns for the season. The Tigers pulled off two upsets early in the season, first beating Patrick Henry 28-22, where Eddie Ford showed his strength and quickness by gaining 186 yards and scoring 2 touchdowns. The second upset was even bigger, against number one ranked Kearny. The Tigers cooled off the Komets 12-7. The game was won when Kevin Mitchell popped the ball loose from quarterback Jimbo Harris and sprinted in for the winning score. Coach Shulte Coach Mendoza Coach Johnson Head Coach John Shacklett SHACKLETT LEADS TIGERS TO SECOND CONSECUTIVE EASTERN LEAGUE CROWN AND CIE PLAYOEFS 139 MORSE-LA JOLLA The Tigers started off the season by beating La Jolla 16-3. In the first half it was mainly a defensive game. Twice the Tigers were inside La Jolla's 10 yard line, but they fumbled the ball away both times. The Vikings finally scored on a field goal to take the lead 3-0, but in the second half the momentum shifted to the Tigers' side. Barry Alexander took a handoff, scampering 20 yards for the Tigers' first score, and on their next possession of the ball, Larry Young swept around the right end for an II yard TD. So it ended 16-3, the Tigers. Dino Burton (44) Hangs onto the ball. MORSE-HOOVER The Tigers scored on the opening kickoff and continued on to a 46-13 romp over Hoover at Balboa Stadium. Barry Alexander took the opening kickoff and ran it to the Tiger 40 yard line, but just before he was tackled he pitched it off to Kevin Mitchell who ran the rest of the way for an 89 yard TD. There were also scores from 50 and 57 yards by Larry Mills, a 12 yard TD by Jerry Brooks, a one yard plunge by Larry Young, and a 15 yard run by Eddie Ford. TIGERS ARE NUMBER 1! 140 Morse-Henry The Morse-Henry match up proved to be the game of the week. In the first quarter, Henry scored 7 points, but the Tigers retaliated with an 85 yard TD run by Barry Alexander off a fine block by Larry Young. However, Henry scored again to make the score 14-6 at halftime. During the third quarter the Mighty Tigers outscored the Patriots to tie at 22-all going into the final quarter of the game. It was then that the defense pulled through again to force a Patriot fumble that was quickly picked up by Timmy Feria and converted into the winning touchdown of the game. Thus, the Tigers downed the Patriots 28-22. Ron Payne (13) keeps in stride. Ford scores a TD. Morse-Clairemont The Tigers went to play Clairemont thinking that it would be quite an easy win. However, the Chieftains surprised the Tigers by scoring 13 points. Yet the Tigers proved too tough to beat and demolished the Chieftains 22- 13. Little did the Cavers know that this was the Tigers debut at home. Opening kickoff, the Tigers mounted a drive that was good for 8 points on Jerry Brook's 3 yard run. Deno Burton also ran 5 yards for a touchdown along with Eddie Ford making a pair. Late in the 3rd quarter, Jerry Brooks hooked up with Dana Scott to the Tigers first touchdown in the air. The final Score: Tigers 36 Cavers 0 Larry Young (23) It's good! AND THEY'RE OFF! Morse-Kearny The Tigers went out to Balboa Stadium rated Number 2 in the country to face a Number 1 ranked Kearny Komet team. Tense bodies filled both sides of the stands. The Tigers, having one of their better defensive nights, held Kearny to 195 yards in total offense, while Morse gained 220 yards offense. Eddie Ford and the offensive line were outstanding. The whole defensive unit, led by Kevin Mitchell, were also recognized in the Tigers' 12-7 win over Kearny. PT Loma-Morse Coming off a loss the Tigers were determined not to lose again so that they could take the Eastern League crown. With the Tigers playing at home the Pointers never stood a chance. Larry Mills (the leading ground gainer), took his first handofF and stepped 70 yds. unmolested. Larry finished the day with 97 yds. on only 3 carriers, an average of 32.1 yds. a carry. Deno Burton dove right for a score from 5 yds. out and to end it all Kevin (Conrad) Mitchell intercepted a pass and scooted 33 yds. to make it 22-8 Tigers. Larry Young eludes Pointer. Dino Babers looks for room to run. Bush, Blue, and Wiley corral to a lone Colt. Ronnie Payne zeros in. Jerry Brooks steps with class. CRAWFORD-MORSE On a fair day, the Tigers were cruising on a 6-0 record after beating Kearny the previous week, they may have taken Crawford too lightly. The Colts, having nothing to lose, gave the Tigers all they had. Before the Tigers knew it the Colts were ahead 19-8. Jerry Brooks and his offense realized that they needed a few scores. Brooks drove his team down field handing off to his backs, Ford (6-13), Burton (10-100), and Young (8-39) who ground out yards. Brooks turned a trick of his own when he stepped back into the pocket and then scooted 55 yds. for a TO. But time ran out for the Tigers. Ending the game at 19-15, Colts the winners. 145 Madison-Morse Excuse me! Aw, come on guys ... With a cloudy day on hand and a good Madison team (known as Homecoming spoilers), the Tigers came out fired up for their annual Homecoming. The first half started out slow, due to weather condition until Deno Burton (9-33) broke the ice, diving right in to make it 6-0. In the second half kick off Eddie Ford (10-70) lost the ball, then picked it up and raced 96 yards, for another score and a school record. Ford scored again in the fourth quarter on a 7 yard scamper. Larry Young added another record to the school books by kicking a 41 yard field goal to humiliate the Warhawks, 23-0. Jerry Brooks scootin' through MORSE-CASTLE PARK The Morse-Castle Park game was a thriller with the Tigers winning 20- 14. The Trojans came into the game trying to avenge last year's loss to the Tigers. The Trojans scored first, but the Tigers came back with a 44 yard touchdown pass to Dana Scott. Barry Alexander scored the second touchdown slipping through the middle and going 64 yards to give Morse their second touchdown. Jerry Brooks ran in the two point conversion to bring the score to 14- 7. Eddie Ford scored the last touchdown for the Tigers zipping 68 yards down the sideline for the clincher, and advancing Morse to the C.I.F. semi-finals. Papa Shack plans strategy Lincoln-Morse The Morse-Lincoln match-up proved to be a defensive battle with the Tigers shutting out the Hornets. Morse fumbled the ball away and the Hornets took the ball to the Morse five-yard line. On the next down, Lincoln fumbled the ball directly at the feet of defensive end Leon Bush, who ran 95 yards for the touchdown. Jerry Brooks attempted to gain the two point conversion, but was caught at the goal line. He than fumbled the ball which Barry Alexander picked up and ran in the two points for the Tigers. The Hornets were still within reach of the Tigers, but a 20 yard field goal by Larry Young, with 1:37 left in the game put it out of reach, with the game ending Morse 11, Lincoln 0. Derek Blue (40) air tackles Squana dips his partner MORSE-EL CAMINO Sweeping around end one more time. Stick ‘em!!! This game ended in disappointment for the Tigers. Although it ended at 6-6, the Wildcats were given the victory, but in the records it goes in as a tie. At a 10-minute tie-breaker, each team was awarded four plays. Morse, losing the coin toss, went first, starting at the 50 yard line. A 15- yard penalty wiped out a long run on the next to last Morse play, allowing El Camino to simply fall on the ball, four straight downs, finishing on the Morse 35-yard line for the victory. Dino Burton picked up a wild pitch by El Camino and ran 25 yards for the Tiger's only score. Umph!!! FOLLOWING L VARSITY’S STEPS As usual, the JV field hockey team did an excellent job during the year. Though in the first few weeks there was a lot of frustration and confusion since most of the girls were new, they soon caught on and did exceptionally well. Their new coach this year, Ms. Bucaro, inspired her team to play to the best of their ability. Bonnie Hooker led the defense and Lisa Virata led the offense, assuring that goalie Holly Penn didn't have to worry about being scored against. At midyear the team still hadn't lost, and went on with high hopes of winning first place for the third year in a row. Before coming to Morse he was a principal at Bell Jr. High School, where his record speaks for itself. We hope he enjoys working here as much as we enjoy working with him. We all feel very proud of him. I'd like to give special thanks to my loving parents who helped me all the way thru the 3 years at Morse. I was part of the Marching Band as letter carrier and was Pres, of the Morse Chorus. My plans are to be a court reporter. I have a strong and positive attitude about my future. To all my friends whom I shall never forget: stay cool. My sweet little bros. T.B., A.B., N.8. To my sweet little cousins Sophie and Jan: stay sweet and God will bless you. Sweet Terrence Smith. LP., D.A., M.M., P.M., A.S., G.T. ARETHA MICHELLE BULLOCK- Chelle I really enjoyed myself while I was a Mighty Tiger. I'll always remember that Morse is 1. It seems like only yesterday we were in elementary school playing teamball at recess, but it was a long time ago. Today, I can proudly say that I've gotten the most out of education. And when I finally leave Morse High I can honestly say I accomplished something. I'll never forget all the good times with my ace partners Sandra B., Felicia D., Jeanetta M., and all the other nuts. We went through a lot together and we enjoyed ourselves. The teacher I like most was (and still is) Mrs. Oyeshiku, better known as Mrs. 0. We had a lot of fun in her class with all the crazy people acting like fools. I plan to go to college. MYRISSE SERRANO CALABIA— My When I think back over the past 3 years my mind is filled with a myriad of experiences. Remember ... the monsters, invisible racquetball, 552 NLS, private cubicle talks, a rose in Ito's car, look-out positions (my view is blocked!), Encanto School and Taco Bell, Occurence at Black Oak Road. Crazy Nakata's screams, Hawaiian twins, surprise birthday parties, speeding tickets, CSF car washes and Sealbearer Ceremonies (Claude De-boo-say), DEADLINES!, my pole, CIF for MHS '75 '76, senior year blahs, happy moments, sad days, true friends ... The experiences are many and varied, yet could never have been as memorable if not for friends like Christine, Liza, Cynthia, Kelly, Linda, and Patti. Nor will I forget Bonnie's dedication to Yearbook Staff. I'll always remember the Summer of '76 NSF SEI at Bucknell University and my family - Sonny, Brother Tom, Isabelle and Lamb, and David. They were the brightest part of a shining summer. Thanks for the memories you guys. For my family, it would be insufficient to merely say thanks for no amount of words could ever express the respect, gratitude. and love that I have for my parents, my brothers, and my sisters. They were an integral part of my accomplishments, disappointments, and dreams. I hope to fulfill these dreams one day thru my continued study in the field of Engineering and Physics at MIT, Harvey Mudd, or use. FELICIA D. DYSE Flea, Mokey, Strawberry My 3 years at Morse have been fun, especially my Jr. year. I haven't been in any clubs but I've been to almost all the football games and was a — 1 Tiger fan. My plans are to go to college and get a good job, and stay with my man Dana Scott if everything goes right. I want to give a special “Thank You to D.B., Mrs. 0., M.B., L.Y., R.W., DM., T.M., Mrs. R. and most of all D.S. for making my last year a memorable one. It's not going to be the same not cheering for the Tigers, and acting crazy. I'll miss a lot of people especially the ones up above and getting bugged by certain people, and getting talked about. Right on for the Class of '77. Thanks to the football players for giving us the best season all year round in spite of everything. I'll always love D.S. and hope he returns some of it. JOAN M. GURBACKI These past years at Morse have been fantastic. Especially those spent in I.S. I'll always remember the help received from Dr. Zeddies, a great teacher, and all around everything. I'll remember the Opera, our crazy wild Sophomore English with Ms. Wheatcroft, T.R., D.H., and occassionally A.R., thrown in for effect. Henrietta the Frog, the Great TA's Manny (his eyes and religion), Ernie (easy Spanish),Mr. Young, Rick and Eric. The 20's Garden Party, picture taking, hockey games, the Prom with Brian West, Deep think tank talks, the Halloween party. Educational (?) films for English, the Zoo, Balboa Park and bus rides. I'll always remember my great friends Lynda Williamson and Lynn Waite and all my other friends, S.T., V.F., T.R., G.B., R.E., D.H., C.M., D.M., M.C., M.R., and everyone else from I.S. I plan to go to SDSU for a Zoology major and someday work in the Zoo. PAULETTE JOHNSON Midge My 3 years were a trip, but my Jr. year was the best I'll always remember T.S., E.W., D.8., C.C., S.B., Ms. Bucaro, Coach Shack, and the person I really love Eddie Juice Ford. I'll always remember the Pt. Loma meet where E.W. fell on her head. I'll miss K.M. and D.Y. Good luck! The 75-76 Eastern League Champs. The 76-77 Eastern League Champs. I really enjoyed cheering at the Henry and Kearny games. Good luck— everybody. VANESSA SUZETTE KENNEDY Van, Netty, Dimples, Ness I'll always remember my years at Morse. My Soph, year I was on the gymnastics team, ASB intern, and Drill Team. I'll always remember my ups and downs with J.P.Y. III. The Band trip to Fontana, Sophie acting crazy at the park playing truth or dare til 4:00 a.m. in the morning, going to the Senior Prom with Collins, and going to Grad-Nite with Robert Pettis. Hey Tonnette remember when the family went to the Skyline Rec.? (Ha Ha). Deno B. keep in touch. I'm glad you got what you wanted.
