HISTURN Ol THIL KI-Xss OI 1948 Freshman and Sophomore lears September 1944 a very momentus date rn the hrstory of Morse Hrgh School The Class of 1948 entered these hallowed Halls and began our frrst step on the way up the steep Mountarn of learnrng Very soon we elected our oncrcers for the year They were as follows Pr esrdent ROBERT HINDS Vrce Presrdent DEAN COOK Secretary FRANCES YOUNG Treasurer DOROTHY BELANGER Student Councrl Teresa St Peter Donald Robrnson Mr Alkazrn served as our class advrsor Many members of the Class of 48 Jorned the Dramatrcs Club the Glee Club, and the Latrn Club Our outstandrng athletes were and strll are Blarne Trafton and Clarence Squeakre Irrsh They were chosen for the unusual honor of playrng on the varsrty team therr first year All rn all our frrst year was very successful but the next year Wrth some experrence behrnd us was even more so Presrdent CARLTON REED Vrce Presrdent BLAINE TRAFTON Secretary DOROTHY BELANGER Treasurer ANNETTE GODFREY Student Councrl Frances Young MarJ0r1e Rogers Donald Robrnson Frgurrng that two heads were better than one we had co advrsors They were Mrs Flaherty and Mrs Mayo Three grrls were chosen to represent the class rn the Mohrba Queen Con test The grrls were Amelrfr Mrtchell Marre Whrte and Annette Godfrey who Won the trtle of Sophomore Attendant The Sophomore Class provrded the rest of the school wrth some enter tarnment rn the form of an assembly under the drrectron of Mrs Flaherty We sponsored two rummave sales whrch were very successful and added to our treasury The money makrng commrttee was Clarr Mrlton Dean Cook Amelra Mrtchell and MarJor1e Rogers Thrs year ended our apprentrceshrp so to speak and We became UPPERCLASSMEN ' ' Evelyn McPhee ' . c V 4 v l At an early class meeting the following officers were elected: 5 Q ' .
