Cllam o 1948 The Senror Class offrcers for 1947 48 xx ere as follows Presrdent Joan Shaw Vrce Pr esrdent Arthur Bowker Secretarx Annette Godfrey Treasurer Barbara Poulos 'Student Councrl Members Amelra Mrtchell Edward Rowe Clarre Mllton Carlton Reed Barbara Dunton 7 At our first meetrng Alxrn Gedrman was appornted charrman of the Freshman Inrtratron Commrttee The Freshman Inrtratron turned out well the freshmen berng great sports about the whole thrng All the serrrors were a brt drsapporrrtecl when a freshman became Mohrba queen but ex erybody agreed that she made a lovely queen and really deserved the honor The attend ants from the Senror Class were Avrs Carter and Barbara Dunton Chrlstmas cards were sold to burld up the treasury The Senror Class play commrttee xxas headed by Axrs Carter The Class voted to have a mystery and the one selected was Home Sweet Homrcrde by Crarg Rrce Mrss Nancy Woods drrected the play whrch was presented on January 31 The sale of homemade The Orchestra and Senror Class Jorned efforts to sponsor an Edward Lrttle High School Band concert here Because of bad weather the attendance was poor and the orchestra generously gaxe all the profrt to the Senror Class Srx candrdates were rromrnatecl for the DAR Good Crtrzenshrp award Frnally chosen was Amelra Mrtchell There was much controx er sy as to whether we should wear caps and gowns for gradua tron rt was xoted lrowexer to keep the tradrtron of whrte dresses and tuxedos The class was very proud when rt was announced that George Dole was one of the two Marne students to Vllll the Pepsr Cola Scholarshrp We know that no one rs any more deserxrng than George and that he wrll make the most of hrs opportunrty A Cooked Food Sale xx as xery successful and plans are now underway for a Senror Prom and a Card Party Much credrt goes to our class advrsor M1 Pomerov whose help and advrce have con trrbuted so greatlx to the success of our senror year candy between acts added greatly to the frnancial success of the play.
