FOOTBALL The MBHS football leam worked very hard and tediously this year and did very well in spite of the fact that this was the first team that had a full season. They won three games, lost five, and tied one. The efforts of the team and the tremendous help of their coaches, Mi. Boyd, Mr. Maramonte.

VARSITY BASKETBALL ROW 1: Coach Mueller. ROW 2: Charlie Harris, John Kleinhammer. ROW 3: Jerry Brewer, Mike Rowell, Terry Russell. ROW 3: Jim Phillips, Jim Pierce, Marvin Henslin, Lonnie Nash. This being only the 2nd year for MBHS In bas- ketball competition, a successful year as far as wins and losses is concerned was not anticipated. It must also be kept in mind that we were competing against schools with seniors. The season was re- warding from other viewpoints and the varsity team won one league game to keep the whole season from being a total washout. Outstanding players were Lonnie Nash, who led the team in most points scored for the season and the highest average per game with 9.7 points. Marvin Henslin was outstanding in rebounding and was close behind Nash in total points. Mike Rowell and Jim Phillips showed continued improvement and came on strong at the end of the season. A far more successful year is anticipated in 61 and 62 when we will have seniors and can compete on even terms with the members of our league. f r L i p i
