HIGH G. A. A. The Sr. High GAA has kept busy this year with activities such as basketball, volleyball, trampoline, baseball, and track. They at- tended a playday at Lompoc and sponsored a county -wide sports day here. Money rais- ing projects included selling popcorn and popcorn balls. They were also co -sponsors of a carnival held in October. JR. HIGH G. A. A. The Jr. High started the year off with a candy cane sale. This was fol- lowed by a playday which was enjoyed by all. Another highlight of the year was a pot luck dinner at which the awards for the various sports activi- ties were presented. The Science Club was established at Morro Bay High to promote interest and ability in all parts of science. Sponsored by Mr. Dunn, the club has undertaken experiments in many fields of science and has increased the knowledge of its members. Its attendance has flou- rished since its first year and it is hoped that it will continue to be a suc- cess. 9CIENCE CLUB STANDING: Don Goodwin, Jeff Tindall, Bob Moffatt, Glen McCouUough, Greg Bahl. KNEELING: Jerel Crawford, Richard Huntington, Mike Dunlop, Steve Rebuck. LETTERMEN ' 8 CLUB ROW 1: Mike Kishiyama, David Thomas, Bob Novoa, John Kleinhammer. ROW 2: Mike DeNeve, Danny Elmore, Jim Phillips, Don Pierce, Mark Shinbrot, Fred Schlitz, ArtGaoiran. ROW 3: Duane Swanson, Bill Brunskill, Kim Kolb, Marv Henthorne, Jim Brown, Mike Fields, Mike Rowell, Jerry DeClippel, Coach Maramonte. The Lettermen ' s Club, headed by Mike Fields as presi- dent, had as their main project, be- sides lettering, selling concession at dances and games.

Struggling to meet deadlines, writing and re -writing copy, fitting a certain picture into a certain spot, and finally managing to lose that all -important page are all part of the fun that goes with being a mem- ber of the annual staff. TREA9URE CHE9T 9TAFF STANDING: Don Wise, photographer; Darcy Maloney, copy; Mr. Conklin, advisor. SEATED: Bonnie Holl, typist and layout manager; Sue Shipman and Mary Mapes, co-editors; Mary Lu King, copy. PIRATES PORTHOLE STAFF SEATED: Sue McMorris, Reporter; Diane Goodwin, Reporter; Bonnie Holl, typist; Joanne Stewart, fashion editor; Sue McKeoun, reporter. STANDING: Mark Shinbrot, sports editor; Peter Overmeyer, assistant editor; Jim Wagner, Editor-in-chief; Ronnie Soeda, sports editor; Bob Payne, reporter; Mike Werner, reporter and photographer. In spite of lack of funds, the hard- working staff of the Pirates Porthole managed to put out a mimeographed paper. They are now looking forward to next year when they will be old hands at the news- paper game and the Porthole will be authentically printed.
