It is a pleasure for me to have this opportunity to express my personal good wishes to the graduating class. As you leave Morrisville, you are bringing to a close a most important experience in your life. You will now be called upon to demonstrate how meaningful this ex- perience has been. This is the most exciting time the world has ever known. We have reached new heights of technological progress and material prosperity, but we are beset on every side by domestic and international crises for which we have not yet found any real solutions. With the knowledge and skills you have acquired, you are well equipped to take your place in the economic life of our society. I hope you have also acquired a zest for living and learning, and a passion to become active participants in the world's dramas. I welcome you as members of the alumni of the State University of New York, and congratulate you on the years awaiting you when you can be full partners in the struggle for humane existence.
