Now used solely as an elementary school, the building is soon to be aban- doned in favor of a more modern school. MANOR PARK SCHOOL This elementary school was erected in 1924 in Morrisville's Fourth Ward. Re- cently the construction of an addition to the building made several new class- rooms and an all-purpose assembly room available to the students of that section of town. CAPITOL VIEW SCHOOL The first Capitol View School was erected during World War I and was torn down after the Second World War. It was recently replaced by the modern elementary school shown here and also used for locker room space for our ath- letic teams. 1' On Augusf 6 1956 Morrusvulle Hugh School losT a beloved and respecfed Teacher KaTherune A HasTon who dued aTTer a shorT ullness Born on May 16 1898 Mrs HasTon was graduaTed from ST John s Hugh School un PuTTsTon Pa and Then Trorn The Maryvvood of Pennsylvanua From 1919 unTul 1926 she was a Teacher un The Jenkuns Tovvnshup Hugh School and un 1926 she was named pruncupal of ThaT school a posuTuon she held unTul 1929 In 1950 she uouned our TaculTy and durung The pasT sux years we came To know her as Teacher Truend and advusor We vvull never TorgeT her or whaT she dud for Us College in ScranTon.
