[8] SENIORS JANET ELIZABETH ANDREWS Jan Academic Jan” is always ready with a good joke to liven up school life. Loves to drive her Dodge. Likes all sports. Neat dresser. Her blonde hair and blue eyes make a nice combination. Spends the summers at Brant Beach. Keeps up the soprano section in the mixed chorus and girls chorus. Our tourist—been to California twice. BENNETT Connie” Commercial Connie” is one of the shorter members of the class with strawberry blonde hair. One of her favorite pastimes is dancing at the canteen. Usually seen dash- ing around with Carole. She spent the past summer working at the Cut Rate. Most of her interests are outside of M. H. S. ROBERT BREWER Bob” Commercial He was one of the star football players of the class of 51.” Enjoys teasing the girls. Likes to work on cars. Keeps his feminine interests a secret. BUHR Eileen” Commercial Voted the nicest physique in the Senior Class. Never seen without Jo Jo.” Likes to dance, and is a member of the canteen. Is able to keep the boys guessing. She was voted best athlete in the Senior Class. Captain of the hockey team and presi- dent of Leaders Club are a few of the activities. Nina’s clothes are the envy of all. She also likes foot- ball, especially the co-captain, Pete. Take looks, talent, personality—put them together and you have Nina. She served as our representative for the Student Council. Male interests lie mostly in Trenton and a few in the Navy. Worked hard for the class. She won’t be satis- fied until she owns her own car. She deserves a lot of credit. Priscilla is a neat dresser. Always keeps up with the latest fashions. Has not decided what she wants to do when she graduates. Voted the most likely to succeed in the Popularity Poll. Takes an active part in school activities. He works hard in his studies. Bill doesn’t seem to like the opposite sex, or if he does it certainly is a secret. We are sure Bill’s easy-going way will help him to succeed. Activities: Focus 3, 4; Yearbook 3, 4. [n] DONALD A. DISLER Dee Dee” Academic Don is small but powerful. Plays fullback on the football team, and has a friendly personality. Always willing to lend a helping hand. Don is a neat dresser and quite the ladies man. It will always be a wonder how such a small person could have such a deep voice. Activities: Boys’ Cooking Club 1; Typing Club 2; Boys’ Sports Club 3; Photography 4. Sports: Football 2, 3. 4. ANN MARIE DOYLE Ann” Academic Ann is always ready to lend a hand at dances and other class affairs. She has a cheery smile for everyone and she loves to talk about her brothers. After school you can find her with Marlene and Carol in the Cut Rate comparing Latin ponies. A friend to all. We know she will succeed as a secretary. EMMONS June” Academic June is one of the smaller members of our class and is always ready for a good laugh. She is usually seen with Betty. June always has a cheery Hi” and smile for all of her friends. After graduation she plans to be an occupational therapist and she should do very well in this field. Sports: Badminton 1, 2, 3; Archery 2, 3, 4; Basketball 1. CLAIRE FLEISCHER Flash” Commercial Claire is one of the nice-looking girls of the Senior class. She was voted best-dressed. She has a pleasing personality and a cute smile. You never see Flash mad. Is always with Buddy Molly. Is willing to lend a helping hand when ever it is needed. He has great ability in drawing, and is well liked by his classmates. Really a hard worker and very quiet ex- cept for laughing at Humpy’s jokes. Female interests are unknown, although he can be seen cutting up with Schleg in the art room. He hopes someday to be a carpenter. JOHN FOSTER “Humpy” General Jack is usually seen with Freddie and Jim. Jack’s sense of humor keeps the class laughing continually. He is better known to everyone as Humpy. He takes a lot of kidding about the girls at Veit’s and also can be seen at Sully’s. He is considered the “Con- servative” type regarding his feminine interests. Sports: Football 3. EILEEN GAY GANDELMAN “Honey” Commercial Honey is always ready for a good joke, and was voted class cut-up. She always makes a nice ap- pearance. Has a friendly “hello” for everyone. Her dimples are the envy of all. Can be seen driving her 49 Buick. She is our wonderful majorette and can she strut! Hopes someday to be a dancer. We depend on Jeanne for all our music. A whiz on the dance floor, whether it be a slow waltz or a jazz step. Oh, those big green eyes! Jeanne’s strutting makes our band a pleasure to watch. Has a pleasing personality and a sweet smile that makes her well liked by all. Irv” Academic Irv” had no trouble winning the title of class cut-up.” Always ready for a good joke. Keeps the 12-1 English Class laughing, and Mrs. Keller frown- ing. Irv” is a faithful member of Dc Molay. Mr. Henry’s man Friday in the chemistry lab, that is our Irv.” Loves to sing and is a good student. Hopes to major in chemical engineering. CARL WILLIAM HUFF Carl” Academic A blond crcw-cut who pals around with Irv and Walt. An active Dc Molay member and a hard-work- ing helper at Leon’s. Carl wants to go to school to be a jeweler. HUFF Walt” Academic Walt” is our future Mechanical engineer. Plans to enter Lehigh in the fall. Pals around with the Dc- Molay’s of 12-1. Does a good job as our able Focus Editor-in-chief. Always ready to hear a joke and has a few of his own. One of John Burns’ medicine men. Activities: Band 1; Orchestra 1, 2; Operetta 1, 3; Mfxed Chorus 2, 3; Jr. Chorus 1; Focus 4; Boys’ Chorus 1; Photography 4; Plays 3, 4. JOHN KISH Abb” General John is usually seen, but never heard. He is liked by all his classmates. Most of his interest lies out of M. H. S. He can be seen riding around with Mike or working hard in Shop. John is very shy when it comes to girls. ELIZABETH J. LENOX Betts” Academic Betty is a cute blonde, who is usually seen with Marva or June. Takes an active part in girls’ sports. She is also one of the faithful members of the can- teen. Most of her time is spent in Burns’ Drugstore dipping ice cream. Betts” plans to go into nurses training when she graduates. Activities: Focus 2, 3, 4; Yearbook 4; Handbook 3; Mixed Chorus 2, 3, 4; Operetta 3, 4. CAROLE ELAINE LINEBERRY Carole” Commercial Carole came to us in her senior year from Bristol. She has a friendly smile for everyone. She is usually seen with Connie. Crazy about dogs. Her main inter- ests lie outside of M. H. S. She has hopes of being a secretary. Activities: Mixed Chorus 4; Girls’ Chorus 4; Operetta 4. FRANK DUFFIELD LORIMER, JR. Duff” Academic Duff” bolsters the line of our football team. Likes to go to bed early. Always good for a laugh in chem- istry. Drives a big Pontiac. DeMolay member. Holds up the tenor section in mixed chorus and the octet. Plans to go to Dickinson College and then study law. JOSEPH MacWALTERS 'Mac” Commercial One of the heavier members of the class. Joe is a real hard worker. A boy with more spirit just can’t be found. We love that hearty laugh. Joe can take all the teasing you can dish out. Worked hard for our class. Good luck, Joe, we know you’ll succeed. Activities: Focus 4. Sports: Football 1, 2, 3. LORETTA MARCUCCI Couchie” Commercial One of the shorties. Couchie is a real sport. She is well liked by her classmates. Has a beautiful smile. A big help to Stanley G. Coney. An efficient office worker. Couchie is a faithful fan of the N. Y. Yankees. Hopes someday to be a private secretary. Activities: Mixed Chorus 2, 3, 4; Handbook 4; Operetta 2, 3, 4. She and her side kick Mari- anne are always seen where there arc sailors. Likes all kinds of cars. Always looks neat. Enjoys going out for a good time. Is ready for a good laugh anytime. NORMAN MARRAZZO Norm” General He spends a lot of time riding around in his brothers Chcvic with the gang. Norm always has a good joke. He is liked by all. Whenever there is any- thing to be done Norm will lend a helping hand. Can be heard talking about his store in Trenton— Centre Fruit Market.” All the girls love that black wavy hair. Activities: Student Council 1; Band 2; Boys’ Chorus 1. Sports: Football 1, 2. PETER PAUL MARTIN Pete” General Pete was voted best athlete in the Senior Class. Pete, an all around guy, is usually found with Frank. He is really interested in athletes, especially a certain blond goalie. We will always remember Pete as the boy who is ready to give everybody a helping hand. Activities: Student Council 4: Var ity Club 1. 2. 3. 4. Sports: Football 1, 2, 3, 4; Basketball 1, 2, 3; Track 1, 2, 3. [16] MICHAEL MATYIS Mike” General Usually seen riding around in his blue Plymouth. His interests lie in a certain Lorraine in Morrisville. Mike is always ready for a good time. Is one of the nice looking members of the Senior Class. Mike has a smile and a nice hi!” for all. Sports: Football 1; Basketball 1. JOSEPHINE MELLODGE Dolly” Commercial Dolly is always looking for a laugh. When we think of Dolly we think of long, wavy hair and a pretty smile—she sure has both. Dolly has a friendly hi” for everyone, and can she dress! Her interests lie in the United States Navy. Activities: Mixed Chorus 2, 3, 4. Sports: Hockey 1, 2, 3; Basketball 1, 2; Baseball 1, 2; Volleyball 1, 2. MARVA JEANNE MORGAN Marva” Academic Marva is captain of our cheerleaders and a very active one. Enjoys all sports. Plans to be a physical education teacher. Marva’s favorite pastimes are eating and driving her brother’s car around town. Came through with flying colors in the Popularity Poll. MUTEK Dot” Commercial Dot” is another one of our efficient office workers. Voted most bashful and quietest girl in the Pop- ularity Poll. Never seen without a smile. Friendly with everyone. Works on the Yearbook and the Focus. We know Dot” will make someone a very good secretary. Activities: Focus 2, 3, 4; Yearbook 4; Mixed Chorus 2, 3, 4; Girls’ Glee Club 4; Handbook 4. BRUCE NELSON Nclse” Academic Bruce is one of the larger members of our class, and is always looking for a laugh. Bruce came to us in his junior year. He is friendly with everyone, and is often seen driving Factor’s car. As far as sports go, Bruce likes to play basketball. Activities: Focus 4; Mixed Chorus 3. ALFRED NEUMAN Freddie” General Freddie just loves to tease the girls and seems to enjoy it almost as much as they do. Just find Humpy, and Freddie will be close behind. Oh, those double dates! Freddie is quite the hot-rod, and is usually seen with a gang in his ’37 Ford. Activities: Band 1. Sports: Football 1, 2; Basketball 1, 2, 3; Track 1. E. LAYWOOD NORTH La” Academic Laywood is active in all sports in school. He plays guard and is co-captain of the football team. Voted the best all around in the Popularity Poll. Usually seen with Frank and Pete and seen quite frequently at the canteen. Laywood’s main ambition is to see his Southern Belle.” Activities: Student Council 3, 4; Class Officer 3, 4; Cooking Club 1; Boys’ Sports 2. 3, 4. Sports: Football 2, 3, 4; Basketball 2, 3, 4; Track 1, 2, 3, 4. WILLIAM PETERSON Bill” General Bill is on the quiet side until you get to know him. Does a good job when it comes to printing. Bill likes to go hunting. Knows all about cars and can be seen at all the Yellow Jacket” races. Hopes some day to win one of the races. Bill’s blond waves and cute smile keeps all the girls on the run, but he seems to prefer Trenton girls. Activities: Stagehand 1. Sports: Football 1. HOWARD JAMES PHILLIPS Jim” General Jim is one of the shorter members of our class, and also one of the quietest. He can usually be seen at Sully’s or selling papers Saturday night. Where would Youngic be without him? He is a good dancer and a faithful member of the canteen. If you want Jim” just look for Humpy. Activities Mixed Chorus 2, 3, 4. Sports: Basketball 2, 3. MARILYN PHILLIPS Molly” Commercial The class shortie. Has a personality to suit her looks. Was crowned Queen at the canteen. A cheer- leader for two years. Is one of the better dancers of the class. Loves to tease the boys with her cute ways. A very neat dresser. Activities: Mixed Chorus 2, 3, 4; Focus 2, 3, 4; Cheer- leader 3, 4. Sports: Hockey 1, 2, 3, 4; Basketball 1, 2, 3, 4; Volley- ball 1, 2, 3, 4; Baseball 1, 2; Bowling 1, 2. JAMES PISCOPO Jim” General Jim is quite a mechanic. Always cutting up with Norm. Goes out for basketball in a big way. Makes all the girls envious of the Mercury convertible. Has big brown eyes that set the girls aglow. Jim has a wonderful personality and although he gets into a lot of trouble he always manages to laugh his way out. Activities: Varsity Club 3, 4. Sports: Basketball 1, 2, 3, 4; Football 4. JOSEPHINE PLUMERI Jo Jo” Commercial Her beautiful hair is the envy of the girls. Jo” is happy-go-lucky and always ready for a laugh. She is the class secretary and does a good job. Is a whiz at shorthand too. Jo” loves to dance. Keeps the boys guessing. One of the shorter members of the class of '51. Always looks nice. What a wardrobe! Usually seen with Dolly. Activities: Class Officer 4; Mixed Chorus 3, 4; Focus 3; Yearbook 4. [19] DOLORES M. RECH De Commercial “De” came to us from Makefield in her sophomore year. Loves dancing and is a regular member of the canteen. She works as a soda-jerk in the Cut-Rate. Possesses a cute hair-do. Has eyes only for one boy named Pally. Is nice to everyone and a lot of fun. Activities: Operetta 2, 3; Mixed Chorus 2, 3, 4. Sports: Basketball 2, 3; Hockey 2. VIRGINIA K. ROGERS “Ginny” Academic “Ginny” has a nice personality and a friendly “Hi” for everyone. On the cheerlcading squad and also takes part in girls’ sports. “Ginny” is a neat dresser and is always willing to lend a helping hand to any- one. She always has a smile for everyone, which should help her in her ambition for teaching. GEORGE ROSSO “Georgie” General Georgie is one of the Manor Park gang. He gives Mr. Hutchison a hard time. Can’t make up his mind about the Trenton or Bristol girl. Known better as the class cutup.
