PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE To the class of 1958, It is easy to say that as the years pass you will have many memories of the place where you lived as a youth. In this respect, many philosophers have said that we are a product of our heredity and environment, that the influences of our past will prejudice our actions of the future. If this is truc, perhaps the future can partially be predicted for each of you. CONRAD ll. RUPPERT Supervising, Principal We have recorded for us the backgrounds of thc great and important people of our country. They themselveshave often referred to the days and experiences of their early life. Through such sources, we find that many of our statesmen, military leaders, authors, and educators came from small communities and rural areas. All of them did prior to the turn of the century and today, although we are a nation of cities, most of our leaders have similar backgrounds. When we consider the statements above, it might be true that your early life in the Morrisville-Eaton Central School arca will be an asset to you. The truth, however, is that this will depend entirely upon you. As mentioned, many peo- ple have similarly found it an advantage to live and attend school in a small community. CONRAD H. RUPPERT, Supervising Principal BOARD of EDUCA TION LEFT TO RIGHT: R. Harry Lyndon, Clerk, Harold B. Howard, Presidentg John C. Vanwyk, David R. C. Smith, Emily O. Marshall, Conrad H. Ruppert, Principal: and James D. Earl. l ,. . lil If'
