As one who is familiar with many colleges but not previously with Morristown, I have found this to be a unique college. Instead of trying to be all things to all men as so many small colleges seek to be, it has selected a mission in harmony with its traditional area of service and is helping to young people with special needs not met by other institu- tions. Dr. L. Vernon Caine I believe that the New Mission of Morristown College, as set forth in its Mission Statement, reflects a severe break with traditions of the past and shows a deep understanding of the present dilemma in higher education, and of the needs of persons destined to live in the world of the future. The basic purpose of the College, and its willing- ness to take persons from diverse backgrounds and of varying abilities and help them develop into persons who are spiritually sound, emo- tionally secure, and intellectually able to function responsibly . . . show a vision and a faith almost beyond comprehension. Mrs. Nannie F. McDaniel I consider Morristown CoIlege's New Mission to be the most excit- ing innovation in Christianhigher education I have observed. The con- ventional approach to curriculum cannot meet the deepest needs of the young people who come to this campus. Since the Church is in min- istry on the campus, it is concerned about the total person. As the director of public relations, I am seeking to tell the good news of the New Mission to young people who may be interested in studying here, to Christian stewards who desire to make wise invest- ment in Kingdom enterprises, and to the Church at large, whose child orristown College is.
