Eugene has the best wishes of the class of ' 38 for VIRGINIA ALICE COLLINS Gin” A charm attends her wherever she goes.” Virginia is The Eternal Feminine, a mix- ture of sunshine and shadow. She can be serious with the most of us, and gay with the gayest of us. To those who know her well, she is the truest and most loyal of pals. I AUDREY ALPHA COOKE Margie” Beware of her fair hair. In her brown eyes we see the reflection of a heart of gold. Many things could be said of Margie — we ' ll just say the, thing that tells the whole story — she has a host of friends. THELMA HARDING COX A merry laugh and a twinkling eye.” Plenty of qood sense and the power of concentration make Thelma one of the best in our classes. The least of her many vir- tues is her ability to make friends easily and to keep them. RUTH EVELYN CRANE A happy disposition is an invaluable possession.” With quiet dignity and reserve, Ruth has made her way through school so unob- trusively that only those who know her best realize her true worth. She is a loyal friend, and has a kind word for all.

CAROLINE EMILY ALEXANDER In all the country ' round, a truer friend cannot be found. Of all the girls in the Senior Class none is dearer to us than Caroline. Her ready wit and good sportsmanship have made her popular. She ' c a girl no one forgets. NAOMI IRENE ANDERSON Her friendship is constant in all things The Senior Class could not have been what it is without Irene. Her friendly man- ner and excellent school spirit have won for her the honor of being class pres ' dent for three years. We are certain that I one will be successful in whatever she under- takes. ETHEL MAE AUMAN Chubby” Cares and troubles vanish when ' Chubby ' smiles. Chubby is the personification of life, overflowing with fun. With her pleasing personality and her chatter-box tendency, r tr r r cam mnO ALEXANDER BOWMAN BAXTER Woozie To others lenient, to himself sincere. LUCILLE ELIZABETH CREECH JOHN ELMER CURTIS, Jr. VIRGINIA WARREN DADDS Pug ' - ' Monk ' ' Ginia I A sunny smile and a precious pout. Nature has given Pug a combination of hair and eyes which make her indeed pleasing to look upon. A kind heart and an ever ready smile make Lucille one of the best liked girls in the class of ' 38. The only way to have a friend is to be one. Elmer will be remembered as the smallest boy in the Senior Class; also, will the foot- ball sguad, of which he was manager, re- member him. Monk is reliable, sincere, and a valuable friend. Her ways are ways of pleasantness. Calm, serene, the embodiment of refine- ment — there you have Virginia. She has played her part in our lives with the true- ness. of purpose which is so entirely hers. These qualities naturally make her a fine companion. RUTH VIRGINIA DAOUGHERTY Virginia Duty is the pathway to glory. It didn ' t take Virginia long to become one of us. Dependability linked with a loyal class spirit has won Virginia many friends during the two years she has been at M.H.S. MARY VIRGINIA DIFFENDERFER Diffy The mildest manners and the gentlest heart. Sweet, timid, and bashful to the casual observer, yet she doesn ' t lack pep or wit, and is always ready for a good time. Diffy is a good student, and failure is unknown to her. HYLA ARLENE DOWNS Rip Worry and I have never met. Dependable, whole-hearted, loyal, this is Hyla. She has made many friends and will be missed when she leaves M.H.S.
