Kanawha Public Library. Registration was held in this building. The College moved to Charleston in 1935 and from then until 1947 classes were held in the Kanawha Cpunty Public Library, Y.M.C.A., Y.W.C.A., St. Mark’s Meth- odist Church, and the Mercer Building. In 1947 the College moved its headquarters from the public library to the south bank of the Kanawha River, opposite the State Capitol. Here the College occupied temporary quarters until the present modem Main Hall was constructed in 1951. The west wing was added in 1958. Four residence halls were constructed from 1955-62 housing 450 students on campus. Comprehensive plans have been developed for the future growth and expansion of the College. They include a College Center, gymnasium expansion, library im- provement, outdoor physical education facilities, and other items of campus beau- tification. Pages 8 and 9 show a full color architectural drawing of the 75th Anniversary Development Program.
