Dil'c'c'f0r 3 Your actions in iite have been iikened to the rote ot piayer on a stage. Comparisons ot actions in tiving to roies upon the stage are, upon anatysis, over simpiitied in my opinion. You determine the tines you piay and they are not prescribed by an unknown ptayvvright. You decide either to assume the rote ot a viitain by acting inconsiderate, seitish, and perhaps even anti-sociat or you assume the rote heroic by actions consistent with sacritice, responsibitity, and consider- ation tor others. Perhaps in some countries you have no opportunity to 1 change the scenery or setting ot the ptay, yet in a country with a representative torm ot government such as ours, you have the priviiege and opportunity to not onty decide the setting ot your hte, but participate in the minute detaits ot prescribing the ptot, the actors invotved, and the various outcomes ot your ettorts. On no other stage, except America, has the youth ot a country such an opportunity to determine the rote each piays in iite. High schoot is not mereiy preparation tor lite in the tuture, rather it is indeiibty determining tite in the present and prescribing attitudes and activities which witi tast tor- ever in the thinking and in the actions ot the students untit ' xits trom the stage. time determines the e fb DALE.
