Senior Class History In September. 1956, a group of eager students from many South Carolina counties and townships entered the gates to Morris College. We viewed with interest the motto. Enter to Learn. Depart to Serve. Realizing that nothing could be accomplished without unity and organization, we followed the advice of our advisors. Mrs. E. W. Wheeler and Mrs. M. M. Hatcher. The following year, 1957. we came back to the campus as wise sophomores. We studied hard, piled up hours and quality points and prepared to select a major field of study. May came. The school year ended. Our determination to succeed was more evident during our Junior year. 1958. The high point of this year came when we presented a three-act drama. Betty, the Girl 'o My Heart. At our Junior Prom the theme, Neptune Court was followed. Our advisors, Mr. R. D. Carmichael and Mrs. E. E. Black were very helpful in making our Prom a success. As happy, proud, ambitious seniors, we returned in September. 1959. Mrs. J. W. Taylor and Mr. M. W. Hays give us guidance. They serve as our advisors. Seniors in outstanding positions are as follows: Albertha Pringle, Class President Dill Gamble, Class Vice President Beverly J. McMillan. Class Secretary Maggie Sumter, Miss Senior Mary L. Getter, Miss Morris College Alvin Forrest, President of the Student Body Albertha Pringle. Superintendent of the Sunday School James Jacobs, Science Club President William Sinkler, B.S.U. President As we write the history of our lives at our Alma Mater, we express our highest hopes that it may inspire us to always strive to leave honorable footprints on the sands of Time.
