(lAhead by a Length This year, MCS started out ahead by a length. The new curriculum, the terrific sports teams and the great people at MCS have contributed to keeping our school ahead of the rest. Together, they all helped to make our school the best that it has ever been. There are a lot of new requirements under the Regents Action Plan. The class of 1986 is required now to take three years of social studies and one year of math and science. For a local diploma, eighteen credits are required; for a regents diploma, twenty. By 1989, students are required to take four years of social studies, two years of a math and science, and one year of art or music. Our athletics department is also ahead by a length. Fall sports season ended with the football team and the girls' soccer team making it to the championships. Bask- etball season was successful. Of all the things that have contributed to making our school ahead by a length, it's the Mustang spirit that our school has. All of our students have done all they could to keep our school ahead of the rest. We should be proud of our school and of all the hard work that keeps this school going. Memorial to Paul Chase The yearbook staff and the Class of 1986 proudly presents the 1986 Morrisanian in memory of Paul Chase. Mr. Chase was always very fond of the students at Morris Central. His years of dedication led him to football games, soccer games, basketball games, and much, much more. Whenever Mr. Chase was seen in town, you were always sure to get a smile and a wave. For those of us who knew Mr. Chase through the years, we will miss his enthusiasm at all the school events. He was a wonderful father to his three children, each of whom graduated from Morris. He was a warm, caring husband. We the student body at MCS will truly miss the warm and friendly face in the crowds and audiences here at the home of the Mustangs for years to come.
