Odds The year of 1985-86 at MCS was a year to remember. New rooms, new personnel, and a new curriculum were all a part of the scenery when we returned to school this fall. Aside from three new teachers, we have a new principal. We are all enjoying Mr. Hess. The addition of another elementary class has resulted in one new teacher, Mrs. Cotter. Ms. Gerchman has taken the place of Mrs. Rogers who was on sabbatical for half a year in order to prepare her humanities course for twelfth grade regents English. Mr. Jacobsen is our new PE teacher, and Mrs. Currie is the new migrant tutor. Mrs. Lussier, the new elementary art teacher from BOCES, is another addition to our staff. There has been a lot of rearranging in the classrooms this year. The balcony of the auditorium has been transformed into Mr. Stafford's room. Mr. Stafford's old room is now the new fifth grade room. The former TAG room is now the computer lab. Our theme Changing Odds” has shown all the changes in our school this year. As we finish up another year and look forward to the next, we hope that it will be as exciting as this one was. The odds were definitely in our favor this year. Who's the boss around here? Mark enjoys Northern Hospitality. Nella, smiling and shaking her head. 2 - Theme

(lAhead by a Length This year, MCS started out ahead by a length. The new curriculum, the terrific sports teams and the great people at MCS have contributed to keeping our school ahead of the rest. Together, they all helped to make our school the best that it has ever been. There are a lot of new requirements under the Regents Action Plan. The class of 1986 is required now to take three years of social studies and one year of math and science. For a local diploma, eighteen credits are required; for a regents diploma, twenty. By 1989, students are required to take four years of social studies, two years of a math and science, and one year of art or music. Our athletics department is also ahead by a length. Fall sports season ended with the football team and the girls' soccer team making it to the championships. Bask- etball season was successful. Of all the things that have contributed to making our school ahead by a length, it's the Mustang spirit that our school has. All of our students have done all they could to keep our school ahead of the rest. We should be proud of our school and of all the hard work that keeps this school going. Our Moms are Ahead by a Long Shot! Future Football Players Buddies and Pals at Work! 4 - Theme
