Text from Pages 1 - 104 of the 1982 volume:

MORRISANIAN 1982 LOOK AT US Look at us! We're full of life and ready to meet the challenges that come our way. We're a band that marches to a winning beat! We're into sports-foot- ball, soccer, basketball, volleyball, baseball, softball- where we give it our all! We're a vocal dapartment where we can express our enthusiasm in song! We're individuals and we're a team; we're alone and we're together, but most of all, we are UNIQUE ! 3 4 7 p' ALBERT BRIMMER 2 o H u s u o Ever since he joined the staff at Mor- ris 21 years ago, Albert has been a vital part of the machine that runs this school. Whenever we needed someone to take us somewhere, Al was always willing to take us. He would stay in the bus while we were out having fun and when we returned, he would greet us with a cheery hello! He drove us to games, to our ski trips, and wherever else we wanted to go. He has driven the senoirs to New York for many years and he had a lot of fun trying to squeeze through tiny little streets with cars parked on both sides. If he didn't enjoy it, it was certainly fun for us! Not only does he do all this, but he also can close school!!! The many people that you have driven in the past thank you- you made the trip more enjoyable! 12 . LOOK AT US . . . THE PEOPLE LOOKING BACK . . . Otto Albertson Donald Alger Lorna Andrews Beth Bronson Look at us —we're lookin' good! The senior class of '82 certainly has been responsible for a lot of happenings in the school. If you're looking in the right place at the right time, you'll notice some pe- culiar events going on. For example, did you ever wonder who named Mrs. Roger's plant (Maurice), who stretched out the giant slinky in the lab, who decorated the dugout, who caused Mrs. Payton and Mrs. Cerra to retire when they entered 4th and 6th grade, ... In addition to being responsible for a few harmless pranks, this senior class does a great job of just looking good! To know us is to love us!! SENIORS: LOOKIN’ GOOD! If we have to say cheese one more time . . . Peek-a-boo! I wish Mom had taught me how to tie these things! 16 I saw that! Alicia Brown Open wide! MM Jeffrey Cameron I know you have to peel it first! Another 100°., (naturally!). LOOK OUT WORLD, 18 The elixir of youth!!! How many times do I have to tell you not to leave them there?! Although it may have seemed that we weren't too absorbed in our studies, some of it did sink in —and with amazing results! We feature future marine biolo- gists, occupational therapists, physical education teach- ers, models, engineers, and even farmers. So be look- ing for us world; we're the intellectuals of the future! HERE WE COME! i'l ' - ft ▲ IJBk. Dwayne DeLong Robin Elliott William Cleussner Reginald Clidden 19 Lori Hand Charles Henness Richard Hoag LOOKING AHEAD What you talkin' 'bout? There's no doubt that we'll miss these days, but now we have the fu- ture to think about. Whether we're making $ 11.00 an hour or standing in the unemployment line, we'll always have the good times at M.C.S. to look back on. You guys are crazy! Who says I'm Crazy?! Wayne Korth Mary Littlewood Debra Morton Ken Harris 21 Anne Musser Nikolina Olsen SEE US SMILE! The roving reporter. Gee, that's nice. I did it again. You'll be sorry if you do! Brian Page )ust look at all these shining faces smiling back at you! Maybe it's be- cause we're happy to be leaving . . . or maybe it's because the photogra- pher just said, Say MILLER! ! Carolyn Pasternak Yeah, I'm listening. 22 Paula Pegg Susan Pegg I couldn't help it! Deborah Pickens 4 jay Quintin It's almost time . I told you so! : } Aw. BUMMERS! 23 She's NICE! We managed to live through our exhausting classes, our t-shirt and magazine sales, getting our pictures taken, and all the other tough times we've been through without going crazy (well, almost!). It really does look like we've made it, so take a good look at us now be- cause it may be awhile before you get the chance again! LOOKS LIKE Where have all the flowers gone, hmm, hmm . . 24 Peggy Quintin Lauri Seeley Frank Sorensen WE MADE IT I hope you're kidding! Timothy Thieme Diane Vaun Hey! There's one in mine, too! Tammi Weidman I'll kill him! Smile, Boot! pllpphh! A GLANCE AROUND THE GLOBE Here's a look at Nikolina Olsen, our foreign exchange student. Nikolina comes from the town of lllaksuik in the Foroe Islands, which belong to Den- mark. Her father works as a fisherman and her mother works in the local school, which Nikolina has already graduated from. She also has two broth- ers, 'Oli and |on' (not to mention a boyfriend) back home. Nikolina likes to swim, ski, and skate. Her biggest wish has always been to visit the U.S.A. She says that she has learned many things here and will be bringing home a lot of happy memories. We wish her lots of luck and hope to see her again in the future. 26 Last Will and Testament OTTO ALBERTSON leaves his Otto power for baseball and basketball to Ken Harris. WE’VE DONE DON’T DRINK THE WATER The senior class, together with the efforts of director Ms. Birkmier, presented the comedy, Don't Drink The Water, by Woody Allen in the fall. It was definitely a play to remember with several of the zany seniors fitting their parts perfectly: a crazy priest, a snippy Oriental chef, a drunk sultan, a lovestruck clod, a caterer from New joisey , and many more all added up to one thing-FUN —and that's what we had. 30 Top picture: K. So maybe were dirty and we don't smell very good ei- ther, at least we had fun. Going over the plays 54 TOP: G. Wilson, J. Foote, M. Wilcox, J. Pasternak, B. Gleussner, B. Decker, W. Korth, B. Bassett, M. Glidden PUTTIN’ UP A FIGHT Our Homecoming game was a thriller! For awhile it looked like we might even win. Wayne Korth's smile won him the overwhelming vote for Mr. Irresistible while Tammi Weidman was voted Homecoming Queen. They both spectated the week- end events including the pep-rally, parade, game and dinner —not to mention some parties. And wherever there was a game, whether rain, shine, or dead of night, our faithful Tubbs was there!! JUNIOR VARSITY Front: Chrissie Cozzolino, Magaret Cleussner, leanette, Dvoracek, lanet Weidman, Cindy Boggs. BACK: Laureen Randall, Carol Stewart, Carolyn Pasternak, Mrs. Zeiner, |ulie Waffle, Lynne Veres, Carrie Spaulding. f P As the ball turns. . . The JV team caused a lot of people to Look at them by winning the T.V. West Championship. All of the team members did a super job of bumping, set- ting, and spiking . We had plenty of talent to com- pensate for Dee's vacation in Florida for the first half of the season and Carolyn's vacation in the hospital for the second. Next years varsity team looks forward to having some of this talent on their team! Although the varsity team never learned to keep their cool like Mrs. Zeiner, they did a great job, earning a record of 5-3. Yvonne showed the team how to play an entire game on her knees, and Mandy soared to great heights to get the ball. Boot, Tammi, Kathy and Lorna had serves that wowed the opponents and Cath had some great moves while Paula helped the team a lot. ____________________________________ FR( ) ; Mrs. Zeiner, Peggy Quintin, Cathie Cozzolino. BACK: Mandy Smith, Lorna Andrews, Yvonne Page, Kathy Kokell, Paula Pegg, Tammi Weidman. The Girls Volleyball team creates all sorts of reac- tions: Tammi would have to say YES! especially to the Laurens spectators. Deb say, Don't Ask! Of course Duke likes the moves: Bump, set, and spike. Billy just noticed Tammi's YES ! And Robin is asleep, typical of a cat. LOOK AT US. . . IT’S JUST THE WAY THE BALL BOUNCES The girls carried the winning streak to 63. They're a tough group of girls who have played their hardest. They gave it their ALL, but it just wasn't enough. The loss could be seen on all their faces and Mrs. Martins. The sorrows, tears, and anger were all clearly seen. We must remember we're MUSTANGS and we hang tough. 58 UP AND COMING Most of the team is young but alot of talent is there even ERICA got off the bench! I.OOK AT US. . . Look at us —aren't we a scream?!? Watching us some of you might want to scream! We had a fun season and mark our words, we'll be better next year. We actually won a couple of games and thats more than the varsity can say! Whether we impressed you or not, we had lots of fun and we have learned a lot and next year we'll wow ya!! WE’RE ON THE MOVE!!! Here we are display- ing some of our more coordinated moves. Mike looks like he is try- ing to balance on rollerskates and play at the same time. Bob shows great form at the foul line. What a great form he has! TOP: B. Forgit, B. Wheeler, M. Walling, J. Broderick, D.J. Bourgeois, T. Leahy. BOTTOM: K. VanZandt, J. Mitchell, ). Robinson, S. Linton, ). Foote, J. Benjamen. 61 LOOK OUT, DONNY! Hey! Who put gum on the floor? I can't move! IT WENT IN!! Did the Mustangs really make that basket, or was it an il- lusion? Scoring points is one thing that we didn't do enough of this season, but the guys did put forth a lot of effort. Jay proved his spunk during an on-the-court fight in C'ville and Dave added some pretty fancy footwork all year. They may not have done much winning, but they are entertaining to watch! 62 An evening at the Center City Ballet Where'd the ball go? MUSTANGS ARE ROWDIE! He may not look thrilled now, but Jay is celebrating their only win (against G'ville). He came away without a scratch! MOVE!!! L. to R. Doug VanZandt, Jay Quintin, Dave Pickens, Ken Harris, Lance McAdams, Trey Wildridge, Jim Carr, Larry Tiffany, Brian Page, Duke Hoag, Don Alger; Front Coach Haight 63 HOT JOCKS Ours guys baseball and the girls softball team pulled off another year, out there on the field. A lot of sweat goes into being a good ball player and no mat- ter what the score, John, Dave and Geesh could al- ways get into trouble. Eventhough Tammi sat” a lot, she enjoyed playing with Boot on the bench. And, although they might smell skanky” and look even worse, we re PROUD OF ALL OUR TEAMS!
