Varsity Basketball The 1981 Varsity Basketball team had a 50 50 record; however, this does not reflect the many exciting games that they lost by one or two points. The team was coac- hed by last year's J.V. coach, Peter Naples. The team was made up of eight seniors: Bill Boggs, Ed Colburn, Dave DeLuca, Kelly Du- gan, Doug Martin, Scot Stauch, John Weidman, and our exchange stu- dent, Geesh DePiero; and two juniors: Duke Hoag and Jay Quintin. J.V. Basketball Row 1- D. Stafford, J.Foote, M.Walling, B.Wheeler, B.Forgit, L.Tiffany, T.Wildredge, Row 2- W.Kinney, T.Hoag, M.Glidden, J.Broderick, D.VanZandt, J.Benjamin. The Morris Mus- tangs J.V. basketball team coached by Sonny Benjamin, was very inexperienced this year and despite their losing record, kept on trying in every game. The starters con- sisted of: D. Stafford, L. Tiffany, M. Walling, an eighth grader, J. Benjamin,an eighth gra- der, and D. Pickens. J. Brodrick,another eighth grader , also had a great deal of playing time. The J.V.'s look forward to the next few years, as their young team should improve. □ 18
