Spirit Of M.C. S. McWilliams, J.Dixson. Top Row- L.Sorenson, S.Mit- chell, P.Boggs. The 1981 Morris Cheerleading squad was advised by Mrs. Boggs. Again this year the cheerleaders planned Homecoming week with a spirit theme and a dance on Saturday night to raise money for the new varsity basketball sweaters. The girls worked hard all year preparing cheers, chants, pom-pon routines, and making posters to sup- port the teams throughout the year. Another important addition this year was the pep squad formed by Mrs. Gunther, which is composed of 15 future cheerleaders who helped support the players and cheerleaders at the home basketball games. The captains for the year were Lori Treiber for the J.V.'s and Diane Gunther for the Varsity. Next year the squads will miss the loud voices of Deb Decker, Diane Gunther, and Carolyn Walling. Varsity Basketball The 1981 Varsity Basketball team had a 50 50 record; however, this does not reflect the many exciting games that they lost by one or two points. The team was coac- hed by last year's J.V. coach, Peter Naples. The team was made up of eight seniors: Bill Boggs, Ed Colburn, Dave DeLuca, Kelly Du- gan, Doug Martin, Scot Stauch, John Weidman, and our exchange stu- dent, Geesh DePiero; and two juniors: Duke Hoag and Jay Quintin.
