4 £oodi:e,r We the Senior Class of 1979 dedicate this yearbook to Spiel Goodier for his unending services to our school. He has faithfully and safely driven the students to and from games, practices, and tournaments. He has spent many hours cleaning up after us and has helped keep our school respectable looking. For these reasons and many others, we will always remember SPIEL GOODIER. 2 A talented craftsman, dedicat- ed worker and devoted husband and father. She gave herself wholehearted ly to her profession, her hob- bies, her family and friends. The loss of the Cases, Pete, Charlotte, Chris, and Mark, brought us immeasurable grief. Individually, they meant different things to each of us, but as a family, they were so much a part of us at Morris Central School, that even though they are gone, their memory will be a part of us forever. Chris Case Considerate, thoughtful and witty. Active in sports music. A real friend. Mark Case A whirlwind of energetic en- thusiasm! 3 With common goals and common longings, we laughed, we loved, we played, we won. Those were our school days, our happy days. They were real because we made them real. They were alive because we existed. 6 And then, as suddenly as they had dawned, they faded into the less carefree days of adulthood. And finally they are now gone... 7 Around the corner are the unknown days of tomorrow, but we will remember our days at Morris Central -------- jMaaam btwr 9 CLASS HISTORY In 1966, 16 out of the 36 students who are graduating this year started kindergarten together. Our teacher was Mrs. Vanburen. The biggest thrills of those days were crackers milk and naptime. Next year we graduated to first grade and Donna Madison joined our class. We then advanced to second grade, the year of the treat shop, which taught us to be business people. Next came third grade, when we went to the Fanner's Museum and the Woodland Park. When fourth grade rolled around, we were able to go out on the playground with the big kids . Tim Church joined our class and we went to Rogers Conservation Center. In fifth grade we went to Herkimer Diamond Mines and dug for diamonds! In sixth grade Perry Page, Steve Warley, Bob Mitchell, and Clover Williams joined our class. That year Mr. Brodrick tried to teach us to be scientists and we also took our safety patrol trip in the spring, WOW! Seventh grade came along with Mark Balbuena and Bill Shinnick. We all thought it was great to be upstairs. Little did we Know! Diane Stachina came in eighth grade, the only other event being another trip to the Farmers Museum. On to ninth grade, we were finally in high school! We started playing sports, cheerleading, singing, and getting involved in things. Bill Canfield came in tenth grade. We were still progressing and competing at our own interests. Eleventh grade was our tough year. We developed the system to get us through. Molly Brett and Linda Harlow couldn't resist joining our class this year. We made it! We finally reached the top! This year we do it all, the senior trip, the play, plus all the other activities we are still involved in. When we graduate in June and go our separate ways, we will still have the memories of each other and the days we spent together at good old MCS. Last Will and Testament Matt leaves to Mr. Shackelton no one to to discuss the weekly basketball strategy and Dave and Paul a ouart of Bleem Cream. Mark leaves to Dave DeLuca Val Brannick, Kim Burnside and the rest of the G'ville girls. Joe leaves Mr. Naples and Mrs. Martin HIS office! Mollev leaves Maria M. her tradition of cool and her saving Don't let them bring you down. Bill leaves his racing car to Mike Chase and his speed to Kevin Mitchell. Tim leaves Donna Foote no one to talk to in band and Dwayne with no one to stop him from playing. Carol leaves Elisse the swinging bridge and Bren, Carolyn, and Deb the good times with the trunk. Dave leaves his tri-town to Dwayne to play so he'll be in heaven and a irotorcvcle feat for anyone to try to beat!! Margie and Cheryl leave to Mr. Rollins and Mrs. Valentine peace and quiet and the memories of their 7th grade study halls together. Jim leaves his great partying ability to anyone who dares to match it. Linda leaves Mrs. Martin her pain-staking excercises so she may stay physically fit throughout life. Janet leaves to Laurene Scrivner the memories of the summer of '78 - especially August 13 and 17! Joyce leaves the joys of riding Bus 42 to Jennifer and the cheerleaders to Penny, if she'll take 'em. Donna leaves Mr. Johnson, Mr. Rollins, and Mr. Laba some peace and quiet; Mr. Rollins his office back; and Jack A. the chorus on Bus 38. Bob leaves Mrs. Kristofik to all of the unsuspecting math students. Mike M. leaves George Wheeler his ability to keep cool in basketball and his physics abilitv to the Junior Class. Danta leaves her list of 101 reasons for being late to Peggy so she won't have to hurry through high school. Sherrill leaves Jerry six more years of burnrdn' in school. Patti leaves Linda B., Deb D., and Bren B., the memories of the brown bomb and the secret spots they know. Barry leaves his goalie position to Otto. Diane leaves her back-bending ability to anyone who likes to introduce their toes to their nose and some mushroom shaped doors to Mrs. Gaeta. Steve leaves his baseball bat to the Cooperstown Hall of Fame. Clover leaves the nurse to her office and being alone during 6th period. 4 ii 13 Mattew A. Akulonis Mark A. This was a very- busy time for them. They planned events for every day of the week, had a special lunch for the football players, held a pep rally, decorated the boys' locker room (with encouraging slogans like Wipe 'em Out and P for Pride ), had a supper for the players, parents and cheerleaders, and sponsored a dance. They accepted the decision.
