GARY WILLIAMS Gary's athletic career started as a sophomore at Morrill High School. Since then, he has become one of the best track athletes ever to come out of Morrill High. His senior year, he was the state class C cross-coun- try champion. During the cross-country season, he Went undefeated. In track, he set records in the mile run at every meet. He holds the school record of 4:26 . 7. He also Won the Gold Medal with that performance. To be a Gold Medal Winner, one must have the best performance of all classes --A, B, C, D for that event. On Memorial Day, Gary participated in the Cozad meet. He won the special mile event with a time of 4:21 . He beat some of the top high school milers around the cotmtry. For his ef- forts at Cozad, he received a special trophy. 65
