SECOND PLACE Seniors Homecoming 70 started out with a big bang on Monday morning and continued throughout Friday. During the week the Student Council and Cheerlead- ers planned various activities in which the student body could be involved. Monday was Wackiest Hat and Hairdo Day. The students had the opportunity to design and model their talents. The atmosphere was a bit different Tuesday. Everybody boosted the homecoming spirit by wearing what they pleased The next day was No Touchdown Day. The object I the cheerleaders wanted to get across was no touch- ing allowed all day! By Thursday the Homecoming Fever had got a hold of everybody and Blabber- mouth Day turned out a success. It seems several of the girls got caught talking several times during the day. Thursday night the students gathered at the high school for the bonfire. The captains of the football team, Doug Lee and jeff Wilkerson, had the honor of giving a short speech. Mr. Guinn also had the privilege of speaking. The cheerleaders then led the crowd to cheers and the school song which was followed by the burning of the Highland Husky . At the close of the bonfire the awards were given to the students who won the contests throughout the week. Friday everyone wore the school colors of green and white to school to honor Green and White Day. Following lunch classes were dismissed early and students and teachers met i.n the gym for a short pep meeting and two skits which were open for the public. The Coronation immediately followed in the gym with Kim Hewitt, Master of Ceremonies. Mr. Nelson crowned Ion Inghram and Ann Harbison Homecoming '70 King and Queen. The Homecoming parade got under way at 2:00 and was another big success. 7:30 was kick- off time for the Tigers with the Highland Huskies. The Tigers played a tough game but lost 14-0. Following the game the Alumni were special guests at the Homecoming '70 dance with the Lost Creed providing the music. The Homecoming week was a very busy week and a lot of hard work but all the efforts were worth it i.n order to make this Home- coming one that will never be forgotten. Candidates applaud Queen Ann
