Sl IUR HISHIIIY As we, the Seniors of '49, look back upon our past, we can hear Nliss Dick Boyce calling roll in her 1937 First Grade Class. Those answering were Bob Harris, Dean Jones and Dale Foster. We felt very proud of our accomplishments that year. We learned our ABC's. Next year we were very fortunate to have Miss Leda Daugherty as our teacher. Another member was added to our class. Barbara Prindle of Sikeston. The next year we proudly marched in the Third Grade Room under the guidance of Miss Gladys Cummins. Roy Gray of Sikeston was added to our honorable ranks. In the Fourth Year we were educated diligently by Miss Beatrice McMullin. Due to the shortage of teachers in our Fifth Grade the class was divided into two groups taught by Miss Helen Beardslee and Miss Marada Mabrey. Three new members joined our class, Paul Hill of Benton, Nial Branson of Blodgett and Patsy Fourthman of Lilbourn. In our Sixth Year we had Mr. Wade L. Cockran. Veda Love of Croker, Arkansas was added to .our fast growing group. The following year we triumphantly paraded over to the high school building. We were sponsored this year by Mrs. Tom Lett, Sr. We were very good that semester because we had been warned of her thorough disciplinary methods. In the Eighth Grade we retained Mrs. Lett as our sponsor. The Eighth Grade Graduation was the high point of this term. As Freshmen we claimed Mr. James W. Jackson as our sponsor and retained him throughout our Sophomore and Junior years. When we were Sophomores our talented number was increased by the addition of Mary Frances Turner of Los Angeles, California. As Juniors we worked very hard for our Jr. and Sr. Trip and enjoyed it very much. Some of the high spots of the trip were visits to Washington, D.C., New York City and Coney Island, then on to Canada and Niagara Falls. Our Jr. Play For Pete's Sake was a huge success Qso everybody told usj. Throughout our Senior Year we were faithfully guided by Mrs. Esther M. Dyer. At midterm our eleventh and final member, David O'Nealof Bragg City, joined our graduating group. On Nlarch Z9 we received our Senior rings and wore them withthe dignity and honor such as they were worthy of receiving. As we thumb back thru the pages of time we see many mistakes we made but that is human nature and we're not grieving about it. We have truly enjoyed our twelve years in Morley School and we with as much enjoyment to our successors. 10
