“Senior Class Prophecy I turned the calendar page over this morning, and suddenly remembered I had a date one, we the Seniors of l95h, made 20 years ago. I'd almost forgotten that date in the years that have passed so swiftly. I found myself hoping that no one else had forgotten. We had said...way back in ll3ELp...that we'd meet on the school lawn, for a picnic, the first Sunday in Junel97h. And this was Sunday, June the first, l97h. Back in those days, we were all young, care-free kids .... we didn't make any set plans, just promised each other that we'd eat dinner together today. As I placed two pies in the oven...I found myself wondering how many would keep that date. Well I'd see. Leonard was out in the yard trimming the rose bushes I called to him. He remarked that we'd probably find ourselves eating our own picnic dinner, so I'd better fix a little of everything. I dressed carefully in my best dressg and as I combed my hair...I smiled. Fate hadn't treated me too badly. Leonard had a good job...Bonnie was married... and Bob already in college. On the spur of the moment, I called Bonnie, and asked her if I might take my young grandson to the picnic with me. Bet I'd be the only one of the class there with a grandchild, to show off. ...We arrived a little early...but then it wasn't far. It was getting close to noon, before the first car...a shiny green ford...came up the lane. It was... yes, it was Carol Eldred. Nell .... that's the way I remember her...but, she's hrs. Lonnie Hinrichsen now. It had been lO years since I'd seen them. She and Lonnie own a farm in Illinois, and they told us they have three fine sons...all in high school. Kenneth Brokaw was next to arrive. He came alone in a 1972 Dodge coupe. He's a High School Principal at Davenport now..still single .... and maintains he likes his single bliss. Almost before Kenny got out of his car...Mr. and Mrs. Lowell Nelson, QLowell and Kathleen Hay, if you recallD...pulled up beside our car. After all these years, they haven't changed much...first they argue, and two minutes later they're holding hands again. . Maybe that's to be expected of a couple who've never had any children to worry about and fuss over. Lowell wanted to be an architect .... but, he ended up b selling Florida Real Estate. He does lots of travelling ies-
