Class History ln the fall of 1938 eleven excited youngsters embarked together on a new adventure for they were entering first grade. The new class consisted of Kay Burger, Harriet Buss, Joanne Jackson, Bob Guthrie, Bill Jackson and Wayne Bertleson. At the semester we lost James Conley and Harriet Buss and gained Betty Hansen. ' Our teacher for the year was Miss Marjorie McCray. Entering second grade we again started the year with eleven, but lost two during the year. They were Joanne Jackson and Patsy Riedel. Our teacher for this year was Miss Rita Gibbs. However there were Ten Little Indians, which Miss Arleta Smith piloted through the third grade since we were joined by Joanne Jones. During our fourth and fifth years, we lost three but happily gained three. Our teacher for these two years was Ethel Johnson. The class of 1950 entered the sixth grade with Wayne Bertelson, Bob Guthrie Betty Hansen, Bill Jackson, Joanne Jones, Josephine Oldfield, Byrdena Pye, Ruth Russell, Jack Switzer and Arlo Van Antwerp. Our teacher was Mrs. Dorothy Guthrie. The same group entered seventh grade with the exception of Ruth Russell. Our teachers were Mervin Blanchard, Miss Miller and Mrs. Dunlap. Wanda Barger and Roland Snider entered in the eighth grade. As we progressed into the eighth grade, our number remained the same un- til the second semester when Roland Snider moved away. Our teachers were Mervin Blanchard, Miss Miller and Mrs. Dunlap. The class of 1950 emerged into high school feeling very grown-up and wise. We numbered eight and consisted of Wanda Barger, Wayne Bertelson, Betty Hansen, Bill Jackson, Byrdena Pye, Jack Switzer, Arlo Van Antwerp and Dale Horman. One of our teachers for this year, who was also the superintendent, was Miss Miller. Our other teacher, Mrs. Dunlap, left at -the semester and was followed by Mr. Brennen who remained but a short while. He was replaced by Mrs. Shumaker. There was a drastic reduction in our class number when Arlo Van Antwerp, Wayne Bertelson and Dale Horman moved away. Our teachers for the year were Miss Miller, Mr. Greenawald and Mr. Wright. The fluctuation in the class number ceased as we entered the eleventh grade with the returnof Arlo Van Antwerp. The Sunny Six remained intact through the eleventh and twelfth grades. Our teachers for the eleventh grade were Mr. Greenawald Mrs. Peck, Miss Miller and Mr. Whaley. For the twelfth grade, they were Mr. Greenawald, Mr. Ridout and Miss Ament. l O N D
