BASKETBALL Success greeted the Morgantown Trojans during the 1951-52 basketball season, The Trojans were ranked as one of the best high school teams in the county. The reserve team indicated fu- ture success by winning all of their games except one. Including the reserve and varsity, our Trojans had a record of twenty-eight wins and only seven loses, A great determination and will to win, combined with good sportsmanship and heady basketball led the team to the Tri- County championship, although the road was hazardous throughout the way. Towin the championship, the Trojans had towin from teams they had beaten previously After defeating Stmesville and Gosport, the Trojans tackled Ellettsville in the finals a pre tourney favorite With height and experience and record against us, we played expertly and con vincingly downed the Eagles thus winning the tournament The Morgantown basketeers went to the Wabash Valley tour nament in Terre Haute, and were defeated in the first game by Greencastle After Greencastle the Trojans were lulled by a 3 game losing streak, but returned to stride by winning our last four games The hand of fate turned backward in the sectional tournament held at Bloomington Morgantown had the coldest night of the season against the sharpshooters of Monrovia Hitting 18 of 89 shots from the field and four of twenty one fouls, the Trojanswere eliminated in the first round 53 30 'X'-N?
