If Modern Languages The Modern Languages department offers a major in French and in Spanish. It also offers courses in German. Latin and Russian. The de- partment not only provides eloquent linguists, hut it also produces scholars equipped with an understanding of foreign peoples. Education The programs of teacher education at Morgan State College are designed to contribute to the development of a wholesome outlook on life, with breadth in an under- standing of the cultural heritage, and with a repertory of abilities and compentencies essential to effective work in guiding the learning activities of elementary and second- ary school students. Respected and renowned as one of the best in the country, the department has effectively guided a large proportion of its students to graduate work in prestigious institutions in the U.S. It is the example of an establishment of audacious power for Black people.
