Your lives and the world’s luture depend upon the wisdom, understanding and knowledge you have acquired. The era in which we now live is indeed turbulent and challenging. The rapidity of change creates anxlctlos which test man’s capacity to survive. Although we have walked on the moon, we still walk with fear and uncertainty upon the earth. History has taught us that the strength of a nation does not depend upon its technological achievements or the sire of its arsenal but upon the quality of the people who populate It. It Is with this understanding that the doquenco and meaning of the old Chinese proverb Is recalled. “If you plan for one year, plant rice; for ten years, plant trees; for hundreds of years, educate men.
