If a college is to grow, there must Ik three working parts — faculty, students, and administration. The ad- ministrative staff is the vital link which coordinates ac- tivities with faculty and students. It also links the college and the community. In its capacity as a link bctwiren Morgan and the community, it serves a very important function to the senior class. While the faculty prcjwrcs the students mentally for the world, the administrative staff provides the ground work for a smooth transition from the world of academics to the world of aclualitv.

Presidents During Our Era Past and President Morgan State College recently lost an outstanding and distin- guished president. Dr. Martin David Jenkins. As president of Morgan State since 1948. he sought to bring Morgan into a program oriented towards contin- uous expansion and improve- ment. Dr. Jenkins, upon entering of- fice 22 years ago, took charge of the Morgan community, then val- ued at 1.4 million dollars. At the time he resigned, Morgan State had a value of more than 14.4 million dollars. Indeed Dr. Jenk- ins’ most important proposal of his career was his recommenda- tion that Morgan become ’a ra- cially integrated, urban-oriented university.” 16 Presidents
