In recognition of unselfish dedication, indefatigable labor, and exemplary personal character, we, the Class of 1965, dedicate the PROMETHEAN to a scholar who will always remain high in our admiration — Dr. Edward N. Wilson. Having served the Morgan College Community faithfully and loyally for forty years as registrar, he has earned the respect of all whose lives he has touched, having left each more enriched and more ennobled for the contact. As he begins a new task —that of preparing a written history of Morgan State College —we, the last class he registered, take this opportunity to express our gratitude and extend our wish that continued success may attend him in his future endeavors. 4

Continuous Growth In an Age of Transition The members of the Class of 1965 have been the fortunate witnesses of and participants in a period of drastic and continuing transition in American national life. We have not watched idly as man ascended unto the threshold of space, shattered barriers of prejudice, and embarked upon similar unprecedented endeavors. If there has ever been a time when each of us could say with the poet Wordsworth: There wo o time when meadow, grove, ond stream. The earth, and every common sight. To me did seem Apparelled in celestial light . . . that time is now. As our society grew beyond its earlier limita- tions, so did we through our experiences at Morgan grow. The constant ideal of our under- graduate years has been individual growth in a time of transition. 3 What sculptor is to a block of marble, education is to the soul. — Addison

v' Because the PROMETHEAN represents the combined efforts of many of the students who were acquainted with Dr. Thelma V. Winder either academically or personally, this tribute is a tangible expression of our sincere feeling of loss of the noble woman who served as Associate Professor of Home Economics and Head of the Department. Dr. Winder's experienced and invaluable contributions to the Morgan State College Community and to those students whom she taught will never be obliterated. It is with much gratitude and pride that we reflect upon her bright life, her ready word of encouragement, and most of all her untiring service to us.
