COLONEL S11pc1'i11te1m'rl1l TO THE CLASS OF 1954 One important phase of life is ending for the members of the Class of l954. This phase never can be lived again except in memory. lts successes and failures, its triumphs and tragedies, its pleasant and unpleasant moments are matters of history. For each cadet, MPMA has provided a never-ending series of opportunities for growth. The academic studies have given glimpses of our American heritage and foundations upon which to build a happy and prosperous future. The many activities have afforded situations for the development of leadership. The social affairs have presented occasions for the practice of wholesome relationships between fellow cadets, faculty, parents and friends, Lucky is the young man who has clearly sensed and has properly employed the many opportunities to advantage. l-le should feel confi- dent of success in the years ahead. One man gets nothing but discord out of a piano, another gets harmony. No one claims the piano is at fault. Life is about the same. The discord is there and the harmony is there. May each cadet study to play the game of life correctly and to strive for the beauty that always is available. May he realize that the philosophy of DUTY, HONOR, COUNTRY, MPMAH will stand him in good stead long after his active associations with this institution have ceased. C. L. IORDAN, Colonel, USMCR Snfu'l'i11Iem1c11t CLARENCE L. IORDAN, MA
