Cornell College Eighth Grade I The best tactical officer that the Lower School has ever had is Captain Bridgford, who, iII handling the nIilitary affairs of that body has placed it in tlIe highest military standing that it has yet had, CAPTAIN VVILSON University of Illinois Eighth Grade Captain Wilson's ability both on the diamond and in the classroom places hinI high in the estimation of tlIe cadets. He coaches baseball and bantamweight football. CAPTAIN HAROLD ELLIOT VVisconsin State Normal Seventh Grade hdost of the instructors of the Lower School not only teach in the classroom but coach some form of recreation or aIIother. Captain lilliot is an example. This year he pI1t out an undefeated lightweight football team. CAPTAIN DONALD CLEMMER Cornell College Seventh Grade lt would seem that Captain Clemmer has bCCO111C greatly attached to the school. llc graduated from here but a few years ago aIId is now back teaching the seventh grade. This year he coached a heavyweight football team of which tlIe Lower School caII well be proud. CAPTAIN JAMES HALSEY VVabash College Sixth Grade SiIIce tlIe arrival of Captain Halsey a new and greater interest lIas arisen. As Scoutmastcr of 'l'roop 632 lIe has revived an organization that had almost disappeared from the list of Lower School activities. Proffuor of Military Science and Tarticf With the advent of Captain Driggers the school has taken a great leap ahead in the military line. Knox College Engluh, Latin .-Xlthough he didn't arrive at tlIe opening of school, Captain llittle when he did arrive sooII entered into the spirit ofthe school and before long was seen on the gridiron assisting Major Houma with his second and third string lights. STAPLEY Iowa State Teachers College Englzrh On arriving at the mid-semester Captain Stapley quickly made many friends HIYIOHQI the corps. His lfnglish classes are unusually successful due to tlIe argument and discus- sion which he allows and encourages on any question which arises. Many a young debate has arisen in his class. The Sergeant has had all important part in the military development of the school and has witnessed a steady improvement during the past ten years. LOWER SCHOOL CAPTAIN STEPHEN KLING Wooster College Fifth Grade Captain Kling is an old timer iII the Lower School. Besides teaching the fifth grade he instructs the school in penmanship and coaches the boxing squad. He is well liked by all the cadets and has many friends iII the Upper School.
