A basketball team was organized during the winter, instructed by Coach Fleming. The incoming co-eds were welcomed in February at a luncheon given at a nearby tearoom, and sponsored by the W.A.A. Warm spring weather brought on archery and baseball and the organizations biggest event,-the annual all-school picnic, held at the Dunes in May. Sammons. . Player: Hutchinson. A ball Was purchased from the W.A.A. fund and the girls were coached by Coach Fleming and lack Tipler. A game between two oi the sororities, Nu Beta Nu and Phi Zeta, proved the highlight oi their activities. With instruction by Sergeant Freer of the academy the club met every Thursday evening. The range in the basement of Alumni Hall was used tor tir- ing, and by the end ot the year several marksmen had achieved quite high scoring. The club had matches with teams from other schools during the spring semester and also joined the National Rifle Association. Members of the Equestrian Club have been instructed not only in plain and trick riding but also have learned the fundamentals in the care of horses. The members took an important part in the Annual Horse Show and Gymk- hana. A one hundred mile Week-end trip was a highlight of the year.
