Cap Lorentz Here you see the man in Whom the students all confide, for our own Cap , Mr. G. G. Lorentz, is always willing to lend a ready ear. This faculty is not the only attribute to which Cap lays claim. His understanding of young people and his kindly dealings with them make him beloved by all. Add to this a friendly smile, a sharp Wit, a keen sense of humor, and lo! We have Cap Lorentz.

Our Principal . . . This year, nation-Wide attention is being directed toward the study of curriculum. At Morgan Park High School, we be- lieve that the curriculum should afford rich experiences for the physical, mental, moral, and spiritual growth of our students. As future citizens of a democratic nation which must be a leader in an ever-changing world, our students must be trained to direct intelligently the destinies of our democracy. The ultimate aim, then, is a curriculum which Will enable the youth of our land to develop into an intelligent and thoughtful citizenry. To reach this goal, the curriculum should meet, not only the prevailing needs of the boys and girls of our local neighe borhood at the present time, but it must be flexible enough to be readily adjusted to the ever-changing conditions of the com- munity, and of that larger community in which We are all so vitally interested e our nation. No course of study, however Well-planned, can of itself accomplish this result. The student, himself, is the vital factor. To receive the maximum benefits of a good curriculum, he must put forth maximum effort. lt is a truism that one gets out of any experience only what he puts into it, and so the benefits of a good curriculum are received, in the ultimate, only by those students who avail themselves of the opportunity that it affords. u...4-JE it
