Bob has the ability to combine leadership and friendliness with a high scholastic record. ln his junior year he was elected by the student body to serve as chief justice of the Student Court. During his 4A semester, Bob was sports editor of the Empehi News, president of Bed Cross Council, and a member of Quill and Scroll and National Honor Society. Following his graduation, he will study law at the University of lllinois. Audrey White is a pleasure to know be- cause of her quiet and efficient ways and her true friendship. ln addition to her election as vice-president of her class, Audrey was also secretary and past president of Bed Cross Council, chairman of her division, and a mem- ber of Tau Epsilon and Board of Control. She will enter the University of lndiana in the fall. Beverly Baldwin has always been well known at Morgan Park for her wonderful sense of humor. She has given unstintingly of her time and service to the school and Well de- serves her nomination as an outstanding sen- ior. Beverly plans to continue her art work after graduation and would also like to enter the field of journalism. While a senior, she was secretary of the class, president of Quill and Scroll, chairman of the Publicity committee, and literary editor of the Empehi News. lohn Cole's good natured disposition and willingness to do for others, combined with his outstanding executive ability have made him a favorite among his classmates who elected him class president and a senior personality. Be- sides his class duties lohn was president of the Concert Band, vice-president of the Art club, and a member of the Board of Control and Tau Epsilon. lohn will become a student at Carle- ton college where he will major in business administration. 4253? anuar CALM 0 The lanuary Class of 1949 was fortunate to have four such capable people as lohn Cole, Audrey White, Beverly Baldwin, and Fred Young as their officers, Under the leadership of Iohn Cole, president, a senior council of about twenty representatives was elected, and committee chairmen appointed. Audrey White, as vice-president, took charge of the banquet which was held at the Nantucket restaurant. ln addition to her secretarial duties, Beverly Baldwin served as chairman of the Cap and Gown committee. The treasurer, Fred Young, handled the finances and was the chairman of the Gift committee. Other committee chairmen were: lane Funkhouser, prom, lohn Shoemaker, commencement program, Bob Bempert, announcements and Nancy Dawson- Smith, director of the class play, The class wishes to thank Miss Lillian Condit for serving as faculty sponsor. The lanuary Class of l949 contributed money to the public address system fund as their gift to the school.
