1943 FEBRUARY CLASS OFFICERS The 1943 February graduates concluded their final semester with a burst of social life, as well as an equally important fond farewell to Morgan Park. Very capably handling the duties of president of this class was Kenneth Fiske, with the able assistance of vice-president, Peggy Giller, secretary, Elaine Bump, and treasurer, Kenneth Gill. The gala Senior Prom was an outstand- ing success, for which credit must go to Bette Hall, who headed the Prom com- mittee. The seniors tripped the light fan- tastic that evening of Ianuary 26, 1943, in the Sherman Hotel, Louis XVI room, to the music of Gay Claridge's orchestra. The Senior Banquet was under the plan- ning of Peggy Giller, who chose Nan- tucket as the scene and hilarious comedy as the dialogue. When Commencement day finally ar- rived, the seniors graduated in style, thanks to Ioyce Martin, who was in charge of the Caps and Gowns, and Walter Koh- feldt who was head of the Ring committee. Laura Gene Over arranged for the an- nouncements. Finally, the class of February 1943 pre- sented their future Alma Mater a gift of a new movie screen for the assembly hall, which was taken care of by Ioe Crow. Mrs. Dorothy H. Cella again had the job of organizing the class and deserves a vote of thanks. So, in the course of events which pre- ceded their graduation, and in this an- nual, published after their graduation, we wish the best of luck in the future to a grand group of Empehites, who were, the graduates of February l943. FEBRUARY WHO'S WHO Little Mary Ann Falls can be called one of the best promoters of school spirit ever found at Morgan Park. Mary Ann headed the Promotion committee for two semesters and was also a hard-working member of the Business Staff. Her list of activities is long, and we are sure that wherever Mary Ann goes, work will be done. Kenneth Fiske is a young man of many abilities and talents, which can be shown by the fact that he was president of his graduating class and held a high position in the B.O.T.C. His engaging personality combined with his leadership has given him the title of most popular boy in his class. The February 4.7-X class is justly proud of its vice-president PegqY Giller. It was she who arranged their banquet, and it was she who turned up eleventh in the class standing. PGQIQY also has done outstand- ing journalism work for the Empehi News and has held office in Quill and Scroll. We are convinced of Peg's future success in life. A combination of scholarship, leader- ship, and athletic ability is the one found in Kenneth Gill, February class treasurer. Being recognized as outstanding, Ken has been president of Tau Epsilon and Sigma. He has played on the basketball team, and has earned his letters, and has been able to establish an excellent scho- lastic standing in his class. Page 17
