PHINGLE LOFGHEN PEABSON FRYER U Dick Fryer, one ot the outstanding February graduates, combines the rare abilities of scholarship, leadership, and athletics. As one of Empehi's outstand- ing athletes, Dick was captain of the 1941 football team, he was vice-presi- dent and treasurer of his lunior class: a member oi the National Honor Society and the Student Court. The Empehi newspaper staff has been proud to claim Bernadette Pearson as first page editor. She is an excellent example of a scholar, having been in Tau Epsilon for seven semesters and president of the National Honor Society. To further describe her journalism abil, ity we can add that she was an active member of Quill and Scroll. enior erfionagfiefi . . Tops in popularity best describes Sally Lofgren. Her reputation as an excellent leader has brought Sally the honor of becoming the Treasurer of her Iunior Class, president of the 4B class and vice-president of the 4A class. Sally was a member of Tau Epsilon and the National Honor Society and her ex- cellent work as Editor-in-Chief of the Empehi News is no doubt a forerunner of journalistic tame. Bob Pringle, a real athlete was presi- dent of the Boys Emblem Club and also president of his graduating class. Tau Epsilon has been proud to claim his membership for four years. As a mem- ber of the l94l Football team Bob was awarded medals for sportsmanship and for being the most valuable member of the team. Page 19

PRINGLE LOFGREN OSHAUGHNESSY BROWN Page 18 One hundred and thirty-seven February graduates said their fond adieus to Mor- gan Park, lanuary 28, 1942, following a fully packed social week. The class banquet, arranged by Marion Speropolous and Sally Lofgren was held at the Nantucket. Eloise Fischer was in charge of the grand Prom which was again held at the Knickerbocker Hotel for the third con- secutive year. The Grand March was led by the very capable officers Robert Pringle, president: Sally Lofgren, vice- presidenty Rosemary O'Shaughnessy, secretaryg and Paul Brown, treasurer: to the music of Carl Schrieber and his orchestra. The commencement program was capably managed by Dick Fryer and Charles Stevens, who also took care of the class rings. Marion Wall had the hard job of measuring and ordering caps and gowns for the graduates, which she did very well. Bernadette Pearson and her commit- tee presented the school with a lovely and very useful gift, a microphone which is being used on the stage. This, however, wos also partly managed by Paul Brown who was chairman of the Budget Committee. Many thanks are due Mrs. Dorothy Cella who was the guiding hand of the class as their faculty adviser, and who also helped manage the difficult money matters. So good-bye to another grand class which is leaving the familiar routine of Morgan Park.
