:lk .luring your 42,:5H Another year rolls around and another Annual is produced. New faces and old faces, new fashions and old fashions but through it all the spirit of Empehi appears to be just about the anne. Every year the Annual is different in some respect. This year it seems to be different in all respects. The theme of the Annual this year is informality and we have carried it all the way through the book. More candid shots, more informal drawings, better pictures, peppier write-ups and many more things that we thought would appeal to the students were added in order to give the students of Empehi an Annual they will long be able to remember. A lot of work has been accomplished by the staff but also a lot of fun because these annuals are a symbol to the students. A symbol of the fun, work, hardships, and friends they have knovvn durum1then'lngh school days. Every annual has a special significance to all of the students. It helps to keep in mind the different clubs and activities to which a pupil has belonged. Each student cherishes his yearbooks and many years later he will no doubt delight in showing them to friends, pointing out the people he knew, and important events that he so clearly remembers. Clubs, committees, and sports are all part of a student's everyday life. Take them away and what do you have? A reg- ular grind, the same old story of reading, writing and 'rithmetic. The outside curricular activities are all symbolic of the many happy hours spent at Morgan Park high school. It is only fair that they have some souvenirs of Empehi to take with them after they are out on their own. ' We have done our best, what with perfect co-operation from the students, from the faculty, and from many outsiders who have helped by giving their support. lt has been a hard job to include everything but we have tried and we hope, succeeded. Now that it is completed, we are happy to present to you the l942 Annual! jf.. Sfaff Page 7

Page 6 T O 5 l'l'lCl, dbtnidil WE PAY TRIBUTE O THE backbone ot the Empehi News Staff, we happily but without her knowledge dedicate the 1942 Empehi Annual. With her snapping blue eyes, ready sense of humor and under- standing, Miss Alma Bauman is indeed the friend ot the Morgan Park students. As adviser ot Quill and Scroll, national honorary Journal- istic Society, she again shows her interest in the literary and artistic talents ot her pupils. So with sincere appreciation of her untiring eltorts Empehi says, Hats Off to Miss Bauman.
