Chosen to lead their class were: Henry McWhorter, who ably and effi- ciently preformed the duties of president of the class, assisted by Emily McCor- mack, vice-president. Emily also led the Social Committee which presented to the class a new and different Senior Class Social. Betty Maurer recorded the minutes of each class meeting, carried on class correspondence, and in many ways proved herself worthy of class secretary. The budget was balanced by Corwin Wickham, class treasurer, who handled all of the funds. This June class also followed the newly established tradition of wearing caps and gowns. The class presented a most democratic and uniform appear- ance to the parents and friends. The Senior Dance was held at a new and different place, located on Wil- low Springs Road, O. Henry. Seniors danced to the melodious tunes of a smooth and mellow orchestra. The Gift Committee headed by Joan Wunder, after much debating and prolonged investigation, it was decided by the members of this committee the most appropriate gift was new side curtains for the Auditorium. lt added to the graduating exercises an air of newness and superiority to the graduating seniors who gave this fine gift to the school The Senior Play was one of the first of its kind. Fun mixed with the seri- ousness of each student as they enacted their part made a splendid success of the play, which re-enacted the March of Time. The March of Time displayed the extra talents given to the school by the graduating seniors. The class members still desiring more social life held a large and interest- ing social the day before graduation and prizes were awarded to the students displaying the most interesting costumes. After all the excitement of the play, social and all other activities connected the seniors each and every member of the June nineteen hundred and l xxx. K' AM, tlxjf-thirty-eight graduating class, took their diplomas and left behind them mem- ' XJ ories never to be forgotten. Again Morgan Park High School has graduated a 1 .
