IUNE OFFICERS David Goldsmith ..........................,......... President lane Ward .......,.. ......... V ice-President lune Waughop .......... ........... S ecretary Wilbur Heckmann ....... ........ T reasurer his lune, Empehi graduates her twenty-eighth class of seniors, and for the second time in her history, following the precedent set by the February '37 class, she is graduating them in caps and gowns. Ably guided by an efficient foursome composed of David Gold- smith, president: lane Ward, vice-presidentg lune Waughop, secretary, and Will Heckmann, treasurer: the Senior committees were selected: ring, assembly, commencement, and budget committees co-operated in the smooth running of the business of the Senior class. The Senior Prom was held this year, as the year before, at the Lake Shore Athletic Club and seniors and alumni danced to the smooth rhythm of Emil Flindt's orchestra. At the time the Annual went to press, the class had not decided on a gift to the school but a generous allowance had been set aside for it by the budget committee. The Seniors wish to thank those members of the faculty, Mrs. Dorothy Cella, Miss Lucy Babcock, Miss Lillian Weislander, Miss Marie Bellinghausen, Miss Mary Thompson, Mrs. Berenice Hartle, Miss Athena Fischer, Mrs. Genevieve Brook, and Robert C. Antonides, for the interest and help they have given to the class in carrying out its social activities during the year. Without their guidance we seniors surely would have been lost and this is small appreciation for their generous aid. f29l

Wl-lC'S WHC-l UNE 1937 DAVID GOLDSMITH David Goldsmith, our Senior class president, well merits the honors he has won at Empehi. He has managed the stage crew for two years, been chairman of the Finance Committee, a member of the Annual Staff, Quill and Scroll, and the Photo Staff. He was elected president of the newly-organized American Youth League as well as leader of the lune '37 class. He has been in Tau Epsilon four years. Hats off to the lad who has mixed school and extra-curricular ac- tivities so successfully, Dave Goldsmith! GRACE REED Vivacious, smiling, and tops in efficiency is Grace Reed, an active Empehite in academic and extra-curricular activities. Four years on the Student Council and two years on the Board of Control, active on the Social and Pep Committees, and membership in the Girl Reserves, the Zoology Club, the Girls' Glee Club, and Tau Epsilon all are hers. She was president of her class during her Freshman, Sophomore, and Junior years. Wherever she goes, success will fol- low her, and she certainly merits a reward for efficiency. MARIORIE SCHULZ An executive through and thro-ugh is Marjorie Schulz, one of Empehi's leading leaders, who started out as a room officer. She has been president of the Girl Reserves and active on the Board of Control, in the Girls' Glee Club and on Finance Committee. She has been in Tau Epsilon for four years. A fitting climax is her position as president of the Student Association. Marjorie's charm and vivaciousness have won her life long friends at Empehi. IACK GROSSCUP Sportsman, executive and singer describe the owner of a shock of blonde hair and a perpetual grin. Who? lack Grosscup, of course. Ollie has been on the Athletic Commission, the Emblem Club, the Swimming team for four years, the Hi-Y, and Tau Epsilon. He has also been in the Boys' Glee Club, the A Capella Chorus, the Sales Committee, and the Student Council, and for the past year has been second vice-president of the S. A. lack is destined to go far with his combined ability and personality. f31l
