Jack Schwarz Esther Jacobs Betty Tredwell Herb Welhener WI-IOS WHO-FEBRUARY lf-XCK SCHWARZ The name of Jack Schwarz will long be remembered in Empehi. Jack Was outstand- ing in athletics and class leadership. The at- tractive combination of ability, sincerity, naturalness, and the will-to-do made his character a most fitting example to hold be- fore the school. During Jack's career as a football hero he kept up his Work scholastically. When the time came for graduation, his class was proud to have him represent them at their commencement exercises. ESTHER IACOBS Esther held the highest oflice in the school -that of the Student Association President, held offices in Tau Epsilon, French Club, and Zoology Club. In addition to such a record, she has the credit of being a member of the Girl's Glee Club, Girl's Emblem Club, Girl Reserves, and Quilpen. She is the possessor of keen executive abil- ity and has a capacity for good hard Work. She ranked in the top tenv scholastically, and undisputably first in the hearts of her friends. BETTY TREDWELL She is a upeachyv person-this Betty Tred- Well, and she is a clever one, too. Certainly, only one with versatility could hold Betty's place in our ranks, She was Vice-President of her class, Re- corder for the Student Court, and a mem- ber of the Social Committee, Girl Reserves, Tau Epsilon, and the Girls, Emblem Club. It is with one regret that we see Betty's name in Who's Who -for there is a mark of finality in its being there, which means We must say good-bye to a regular girl. HERB WELHENER Would it be vulgar to say Watta man, Welhener?,' Truly, we find it quite expres- sive after glancing at his record of achieve- ments among us. First, and most important on the list- Vice-President of the Student Association. This honor is closely followed by: President of Board of Control, President of Hi-Y, President of his 4B Class, and School Chair- man of the Chicago Association of Com- merce Clean-up Campaign. ooo EMPEI-II 1935 ooo

Walter Dickey Helen Banger Polly Stansbury A'llan McNeill XX!!-IGS WHQ JUNE WALTER DICKEY We may be wrong, but it seems to us that Walter Dickey has all the characteristics of a successful business man to be. And we have proof! He was manager of both the baseball and basketball teams-of the latter, for a year and a half. Also, he was an active member of the Finance Committee, nor do we forget his active work in the Hi-Y and Emblem Clubs. In short fas Mr. Micauber would sayj, Walter was an asset and will be a loss to Empehi. May we wish him luck! HELEN BANGER What are we going to do now that our versatile and charming Helen Banger has left us? It is hard to tell. Perhaps old Em- pehi will be able to limp along somehow, but it will be greatly handicapped by her ab- sence. During her stay here at Morgan Park, Helen was Vice-President of her Senior class, Chairman of the Student Court, Treasurer of the Girls' Glee Club and the Dancing Club, as well as a member of the Pep Committee, French Club, Tau Epsilon and Girl Reserves. PAULINE STANSBUPLY Polly is so tiny that it is a wonder she made her voice heard in this congregation of lum- bering huskies we call Empehi. But, she cer- tainly did. You see, Polly is very musical. Not only does she sing, but she plays the piano beautifully, as well. She was an officer in the Girls' Glee Club, and took part in several operettas-usually a leading role. Also, Polly was Vice-President of the Stu- dent Association. She was a member of the Dramatic Club and on the Executive Com- mittee. ALLEN MCNEILL Could we have a complete Who's Who without the name of Allan McNeill? Be- fore answering, consider what follows: This tall, handsome lad has become a well- known ligure around Empehi and his ab- sence will be keenly felt. He,s the top in baseball and basketball. Besides being an outstanding athlete, he managed to rank high scholastically. Allen was a member of the Emblem Club and the Senior Hi-Y. His is one honorable membership added to the lists of members of which these two organizations can boast. oooEMPEHI1935 ooo
