Ruth Palmer, Florence Whyte, and Ruth Cole- f ,M man were engaged in securing the Seniors, activity histories and in characteriz- W, f ing each senior in one brief sentence. F Yi' Doris Swann and Hope Brown did excellent team-work in obtaining im- 'f QS, portant data from clubs and in planning a schedule for the taking of pictures. 6' 'V' Harriet Mason acted as corresponding secretary and executed important matters 'E' of clerical routine. Howard Meyers and Winthrop Warren planned the humor ' section. 'i W, At the same time our typists, Ruth Colman, Elizabeth Reid, or Ruth ,., l Nelson were constantly employed in giving the final touch to lists, and sched- F ,,., ules, and literary material. Their work eventually passed through the hands ,-.-, ' of Lucille Smock who acted as proof-reader. F 'f It would be impossible to name all the people who helped to make this Q ig year-book possible. Cthers that deserve special mention are: Bob Longley, who 'Q' was invaluable, especially in matters involving an intimate knowledge of the lf' administration of our schoolg Dolores and Harriet Lagerstrom, Betty Spangler, 'fi' and Ruth Palmer who managed the candy sales and plans for movies, Godin Gadsden, Subscription Manager, Franklin Reed, the Business Manager, and L Q James Cresap, the Advertising Manager. W, Whatever success the Annual has attained is due to the untiring efforts of Y- , Betty Roby, the editor-in-chief, the enthusiastic cooperation of the Art and 6' w Annual Staffs, and the skillful guidance and inspiring zeal of our adviser, Miss if F Elsie R. O'Conn0r. 2115132 Qnnual Qrt Staff HE Art Staff decided to refer to Shakespeare as the source of their theme for the 1931 Annual when they learned that the Annual was to be dedi- cated to Miss E. Ellen Fuhrman. As a result, various scenes and important incidents from Shakespeare's plays have been selected and portrayed in the book. The spirit of the Shakes- pearean period, it was felt, could best be brought out in wood-cuts and old English print. Therefore, the illustrative and literary material have been pre- sented through the media mentioned. Among the wood-cuts are scenes from the Merchant of Venice, Macbeth, The Tempestf, Romeo and Juliet, and Julius Caesarf, The following list indicates the special contributions of individual members: The Greenwood Tree Margaret O'Connor Ariel's Song- The Tempest . .,.. .Lois Wiley Lady Macbeth . , , . . .
