I am able to congratulate li Q, tl you, for I think I now know fairly well the business of compiling such a book. ix Probably last November or December your work started. It grew more -diiiicult 3 I and more intense until in March and April it seemed there was not time in which .. diy to inish your' work as you had planned it. Articles failed to come in, pictures were 2 I 1' fil im le, some Freshman's Pet Anti athy, or some Junior's Secret Ambition, I n I. P y f was unworthy of him, and he must be searched out from among some few hundred - others to secure one of more representative character. Your lost your patience when 1 ' asked on every occasion, What's this for? Probably you asked yourself a thousand 1 ,Q S, times just why you ever condescended to take a place on the Annual Staff. One can have no greater l joy than that experienced upon seeing the tangible result of his long, concentrated 1, ' eEorts. K' All . . . . . l l IU, The ex riences you have gained from your work this year, msigmicant as they i +3 Pe f 'lil may seem to you now, will crystallize into a fine working knowledge which will make ll you thoroughly enjoy this work another time. The let-down is too great at present I p 4 for you to realize what a really. fine and worthwhile training your minds have gone I , through. There is value too in having finished that piece of work against odds.
