WHATS GOOKIN; WHO'S CLEANIN A lot of good cookin'' went on in our cafeteria with homemade dinner rolls, cake, cobbler, soup, cinnamon rolls and chili. Very few could resist the temptation of the smell of the homemade cookin'. The smiling faces and cheery personalities of the cooks serving the good cookin'' made the temptation to eat lunch even greater. The smiling faces and personalities of the cooks ap- peared at the school each day at 7 a.m. doing their best to prepare a delicious meal for 750 students every day. It's a tough job to keep a school sanitized, and it's not too fun to pick up smashed peas off the cafeteria floor, but our shining floors, clean sidewalks, and cut grass wouldn't have gotten done without our janitors. Our maintenance men were always cooperative doing their best to keep all equipment and utilities working properly. Cooks - Lucille Bishop. Mable Chiles. Bea Bennett, Marva Hutchison, Lorene Bar- ton, Lois Forth, Gwen Blankenship, Linda Wilson. Custodians - Randy McGinnis, Zela Boatright, Loren Boatright

It takes a lot of hard work, pa- tience, and a willingness to help others. The Mirror Staff has chosen one such successful teacher to feature this year Mrs. |lee Wooley has been a teacher at Versailles for ten years. She teaches concert choir, mixed chorus, and junior high music classes. It takes all of her many good teaching qualities to produce top rate music groups. Mrs. Wooley is originally from Eldon. Besides vocal music she has had many interests such as ballet, tap dancing, acrobatics, and she became a member of the high school band when she was in the sixth grade. She graduated from Central Missouri State University at Warrensburg with a master of arts in music. Mrs. Wooley has held many interesting jobs such as being a professional musician in a band in which she played the saxophone. Mrs. Wooley moved to Versailles and began teaching because that is where her husband was from. When she applied for a teaching position at VHS she originally wanted to teach instrumental music. She took the vocal music position to wait for the other job. By the time it was available she was enjoying vocal music so much that she did not want the other position. Under her direction, the concert choir has received I ratings at contests every year except her first year in which they received a II. Mrs. Wooley is to be commended for her many efforts in the vocal music department. Faculty 7
