Retirement Thelma Marriott has been teaching in Versailles for twelve of her twenty-one years as a teacher. She took a teacher’s training course her senior year at Versailles High School and attended summer school during her vacation at Central Missouri State Teachers College in Warrensburg. She contin- ued teaching at rural schools while attending sum- mer school in Warrensburg until she received her B.S. degree in education in 1939. She began teaching in the Versailles Elementary school in 1936 where she taught fifth grade. Mr. Hayden talking to the sixth grade about Junior High.
