' W Mor ohL • jr 1'977 T9? - } 'i? MORGAN COUNTY HIGH SCHOOL HARTSELLE, ALABAMA Shadow’s of Yesterday ? Editor Kathy Kirby 3 Where did they go, the hopes and fears Of those delicate and fragile high school years? Are those dreams you thought would always last Forever shadowed in the mist of the past? Can it be or should it be That these happy dreams are just memory. So remember now, my dear friends, That this fickle life pays her own dividends. The happiness and the sorrow, The rays of the sun of tomorrow, The progress and the strife Are all grains of sand in the hourglass of Life. We must meet the past on her own grounds, A time of memories knowing no bounds. We realize now that we can not locate The shadow's of yesterday that were once future fate. Take hold of yesterday's dreams, For it always victoriously seems That yesterday’s happiness is tomorrow’s task, Shadowed in the eyes of fate’s exclusive mask. Homecoming 77 began with a parade through Hartselle, featuring Queen Mary Ann Moses and her attendants Mary Ann was elected Queen by the senior foot ball members. Her attendants, one representing each grade, were voted on by their class. The MCHS marching band also participated in the activi ties. Mr Cecil J. Johnson was pre sented an award for 28 years of attending all MCHS football games. 13 HOMECOMING Seniors The Homecoming dance, celebrating the Tiger’s victory over Columbus 14-10, was a big success. Contributing to this success was the fantastic band “Lodestone.” Mr. John Bryant presided as Emcee. Queen Mary Ann Moses and her escort, Ed Lanier, were dancing in the spotlight after Bar- bara Hemming announced the couples in leadouts. 17 18 An average of 80 decorated cars demonstrated their Tiger spirit in the parade. The local merchants of Hartselle named the Freshmen class the best decorated. The Sen- ior class won the spirit stick for the fourth consecutive year. To partici- pate and watch the parade the high school got out at 1:00. Beauty Pageant Saturday in the Park was the theme for the 1978 Beauty Walk sponsored by the MCHS Annual Staff. This annual pageant of 25 girls from each class wad held March 30, at Hartselle's Civic Center. As each girl made her way down the runway she was scored on poise, personality, and appearance, then five finalists were selected.
