But we were fortunate enough to acquire a man such as Dr. Carlton Smith for our Superintendent. He has made the task much easier for everyone dur- ing the transition. We are very appreciative to have a man who gives our new system his total attention and total commitment for the improve- ment of our community schools. As assistant superintendent, Dr. Spark- man is in charge of the curriculum. Working with the administration and fac- ulty, Dr. Sparkman has updated and included several new classes to improve our course of study. We are very thankful that he is implementing in our curriculum courses that our student body and commu- nity feel will be advantageous to the new leaders of tomorrow. 95 MRS. JAN CASEY MRS. We sin- cerely hope that as the years go by the children, parents, and helpers will always get a little pleasure out of these two pages. The nursery school is a child labora- tory where high school students are given a chance to be teachers. They work with pre-school children and plan activities that will aid their develop- ment. Throughout the year, child care principles and techniques are studied. m 6m in 76 James Bell Elizabeth Booth Mason Booth Toyna Howse Deanna Johnson Stacey Kent Scott Murphy Tim Sivley John Teague Bo Wilcoxson Kelly Williams 108 Wake, Up!!!
