Class elections were held early in the year and winners were: Berry Estes, President; Les McLean, Vice-President; Annie Hernandez, Secretary; and Charles VanDriel, Treas- urer. Junior sponsors are Miss Jean Glover, Mr. Melvin Hentze and Mr. Robert Crichton. Two truck loads of juniors went out to the Apache Grove picnic grounds on September 27 for their fall picnic. And do you remember those groans next day? Would you have ever guessed that “Bull-In-the-Pen” was respon- sible? On November 23 the class gave their pep-assembly, prior to the Clifton-Morenci football game. The assembly portrayed the traditional rivalry between the two schools. The team, composed of members of the junior class, was coached by Spence Fille- man, and was cheered on to victory by those cute little cheer leaders, Don Smith, Berry Estes, and Les McLean, all juniors. The big event of the year was the annual Junior Prom, held on May 12, 1950 in the gymnasium. The crowning of the Junior Queen climaxed the enthusiastic interest of the election of the lucky girl.
