6 f Proenl- Opening PROEM What is FAME? Websterls defines FAME as: public report, rumor; reputation, especially for good; the state of being well known or much talked about; renown. But this is not our FAME. We strive to achieve goals in life that will benefit all. We search for the injustices in life and try to make them just. We are the inquisitive ones that challenge that which is immoral. Our sense of Family, our Aesthetic EXperiences, our Mystique, and our Eminence is our FAME. For these are the elements instilled in every Morehouse Man. These attributes are our greatest strength for we know who we are, we know where we are going, we know the wrongs of society, and we know the answers to the unanswerable questions.' Our FAME, the FAME that we seek, is not one of conceit, greed or arrogance, but one which states that we are intelligent, strong, morally minded Black men. We have many things to offer our respective conununities as well as the world. In reply to the question of the secret of Morehousels greatness, our Presi- dent, Dr. Hugh M. Gloster, has stated, tt . . . Morehouse is great because of her human resources. She has engaged superior teachers who have produced superior students? For we are the candles in the dark that shine and give light to our posterity thereby we are the keepers of the dream, keeping the dream, our dream alive, forever! So come, continue to journey onward as we take the oil from the candle in the dark to acknowledge all of our forthcoming dreams; lighting up the sky so that the world will know we are FAME . . . Morehouse living forever!
